Hi Paul! Thank you for watching!! If you are running cars with more magnetic downforce, the cars will need more amps to run efficiently. Merry Christmas and God Bless!!

I read somewhere that motors are rated to use certain voltages and that running at low voltages cause the motor to draw more amps and thus heat up the motor to a point where it can damage or burn it out .???

Thanks to Elyse at AFX for the following information: They have not tested the compatibility of AFX power packs or controllers plugging in to the Auto World terminal track. However, you CAN connect an AFX terminal track to Auto World track and use the AFX power pack and controllers.

Great information. I am finally thinking about having my own track. The town where I live had a track that I would go to around 20 years ago, unfortunately I can't find any near by now.

Great video. I'm looking for 120 ohm controllers for my 7-yr old and his friends to run some Mega G+ cars, because we wore out 3 of the 4 of the AFX controllers in about a year. I don't want to spend a lot, so I've been thinking about the DS 120's. I wired my track to use XLR plugs, which work great, but I have to solder plugs to the controllers, so I want to get something that will hold up. I did buy a complete IROC set of OS3 Ho Lite electronic controllers that run everything, for about $70 a piece. Not the most expensive, but I'm also not handing those to 7-yr old maniacs (haha). Hence my interest in the DS. The OS3's are amazing.

Hi Aaron! Thank you for your comments. The kids are tough on the controllers, but the DS 120 looks like the best one out there right now. Maybe if each had their own controller, they would take better care of it. I installed round eyelets to tie the extra controller wire in a safety knot so the controller doesn’t hit the ground when they drop it. The kids get the Parma’s on my track!! RACE HAPPY!!!

As always marc great info on the controllers. I saw on your last video about the BDR chassis someone had commented on you picking up a jag NC2 and doing a review on it. Pick one up if you haven’t already honestly they are an awesome chassis and they come in a “L” variety of flavors. And stock run with the best of them. Again keep up the great work.

I have a couple orange parma controllers. If I remember correctly they are something like 35omh controllers. Do you or anyone else know what cars would work best with them. I have not put a connector on them yet as I am still building a fold up wall table, 3x14. I forgot how fun these are to build. I haven't had these sets out since my boys were young, probably around 1994. We have about 40 cars of all kinds. We always just ran afx tomy stock controllers until now.

Hi Speedbob! I mostly use 45 ohm for all of my cars. 35 ohm will be a bit more sensitive and the cars will take off quicker. They should be fine to use once you get used to them!! Happy Racing and God Bless!!!

Not sure how old you are, or if you're familiar with vintage controllers. I raced HO back in the mid to late 1960's; used a Russkit greenish blue controller for the hot cars, but it was really for 1:24 cars. Still, it was easy enough to feather the trigger to run all the HO cars of that era. About six months after I had purchased that one, Aurora came out with a very similar sized one ( for adult hands) in clear red plastic, which I suppose had higher ohms. My question, is did one of these companies buy out Russkit? And which controller would be the closest in 'fit'? The Parma has the right trigger, but the DS seems larger (since I now have adult giant hands XL size gloves). Just wondering if the Parma has longer trigger travel than the DS, too.
@TRXperienced
@TRXperienced 2 жыл бұрын
I believe that Aurora did acquire Russkit. The triggers for Parma and DS are about the same in length, however the Professor Motor is larger in size and may fit your hand better. The controller trigger on he PM has more of a slight curve which may also suit your needs.
@d.e.b.b5788
@d.e.b.b5788 2 жыл бұрын
@@TRXperienced The trigger on my old Russkit was metal, and it appears as if the newer controllers have a more limited travel range. But I can't imagine tech going backwards. I'll try a DS; the adjustable resistence levels could be handy, now that I've learned that many people use such a varied range for different types of cars in HO (I don't plan on going 1:24, as there simply aren't enough commercial racetracks out there anymore). If I don't like it I guess I can just sell it on fleabae. Thanks for the response!

Great info here, thanks for posting. Question please: if I want to run 4 lanes with Trak Mate or similar regulated power supply, would I wire 4 pair of wires from the power supply to each individual track (on the terminal track) or is there a better way? Thanks!
@TRXperienced
@TRXperienced Жыл бұрын
Hi Craig! Thank You for watching!! Yes, you will need to attach individual wires to each lane. I solder each connection under the track and run the wires to a terminal block. Two wires then connect to the terminal block from the power supply. It’s a lot of wiring, but you will have consistent power throughout your layout. Happy Racing and God Bless!!!

Question - when you use the Track Mate power supply and tap it into the four separate tracks - aren't you running all four tracks similar to how the AFX single terminal is running two lanes of the same power supply - where if one car goes off the track it impacts those remaining?
@TRXperienced
@TRXperienced 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ryan! The power supply has plenty of amps so that if one car or a few cars come off, there will be no effect on the remaining cars.
