Sir ,what is the difference between quantum physics and nuclear physics?
@anustupsengupta43353 жыл бұрын
Well, as far as I think nuclear physics deals with nucleons..i. e. the entities inside the nucleus...such as neutrons, protons, neutrinos, anti-neutrinos etc. Quantum physics deals with a larger domain involving atoms, electrons, photons etc.

You said nothing is going from one end to other end, at each place every thing is repeating in the same manner at a later time. Then what is this velocity denote here? Also I think you said that there is no any physical existence of wave, then what is moving from one end to another?Please explain Sir.
@dharmeegajara4403 жыл бұрын
as we define wave as a disturbance we are calculating the rate at which this disturbance is travelling which we call wave velocity, for example say sound is produced so its heard at some place in some time, that's basically its velocity yes correct! nothing "materialistic" is moving its the disturbance that moving. just answered your Question since I had the same doubt when I was in school hope u don't mind
@sachinrajpandey52423 жыл бұрын
@@dharmeegajara440 thank you for your answer, but this disturbance can be considered as materialistc, but Sir had told nothing material is moving, everything is repeating at its own pace, please correct me.
@dharmeegajara4403 жыл бұрын
@@sachinrajpandey5242 while we create a disturbance, we are not making any particular "thing" move from one place to another if you check the net displacement of any particle which is "disturbed" is zero after all, if displacement of particle is zero we cannot further talk about its motion for further explanation as sir said "sansar kinn vastuon se bana hai?" so the answer is FIELDS, inn fields ko jab disturb kiya jaa raha hai tab ek PHENOMENA ho raha hai, kya? so here the answer is WAVES I like to think of it as energy changes happening there, making us feel as if something is moving think of a ball moving, yea yea the moving ball is a thing but now imagine many balls forming a circle and moving in such a way that we can see a circle forming there, is that circle a thing? No! the moving balls which are a thing are forming a pattern try to correlate.
@sachinrajpandey52423 жыл бұрын
@@dharmeegajara440 yes what you said is true. So we can think of it as a field which is moving, or energy as moving so energy transfers but not particle. But energy is moving in one way only not vibrating. In that ball and circle analogy can we consider ball as a particle and circle as a wave, but some time again they say that light is made of photons which is generated by electric and magnetic fields so field again appears in the form of particle so influences of field is actually influences of particle, correct me if something is wrong.
@dharmeegajara4403 жыл бұрын
@@sachinrajpandey5242 the analogy was to understand the difference between movement of particle and movement of disturbance so yea u got it right about particle and wave, as far as fields are concerned, they are influenced by particles eg, magnetic field is generated by moving electron charge but the fact that now after quantum mechanics we say every particle has a wave form shouldnot be ignored
@adi65163 жыл бұрын
Sir we define refractive index as: c/speed of light in medium; and we have speed of light in a medium as 1/square root(permittivity of medium * permeability of medium) now since permeability of a medium and permittivity does not depend on wavelength of light hit on the surface. then why does refractive index change with wavelength.
@anilpillai91803 жыл бұрын
That formula for refractive index is for monochromatic ray of light, means single colored. For different colours, the refractive index of the medium will be different

practice hard problems as many as possible , Olympiads and such, study mathematics rigrously, if you know a lots of mathematics , physics just becomes a practical application of it, don't afraid of not knowing the answer, don't afraid of getting stuck at a problem , don't think if you can not solve one problem you can't move on forward to others, and finally don't be afraid of getting confused, seek out for confusions, seek out for questions..amd stay curious.
