Shamu is a stage name, not a lie. The individual orcas around the Sea Worlds 'act as' Shamu during the performance. Much like actors act as a character in a movie. Each orca has its own individual name, but most people are happy to say "We saw Shamu at Sea World" and everyone knows what they mean. "We saw Kyuquet and Unna at Sea World" and everyone would be like: What? Disney has Mickey Mouse as their 'persona'... Sea World has 'Shamu'

Shamu died over 30 years ago... It's a stage name. In San Diego there is no "Shamu."

No it isn't. The original Shamu was actually a girl. She died in 1978. "Shamu" is the stage name. This is a boy named Kyoquot.
