I'd always wondered how fast one could go from cold-and-dark to ready for liftoff. I gotta admit that was even faster than I thought possible, and you even had a second engine start-up sequence to do in there, too!

Back in 2005 I was in a roll over accident with my gf. It was quite a ways from a major city and a trucker who I will never forget was one of the first people to help us and he said don't worry they're already on the way, he called it in right when he saw it. The paramedics decided my gf needed a helicopter. The helicopter got there so fast I thought it must a news helicopter that heard about the accident over the police scanner and ventured a ways into the country to cover it. The helicopter landed and was gone in just a few minutes. Their job is not without risk as we've seen a lot of these helicopters crash. I will always be grateful that people like them are out there. Don't forget that truckers are invaluable and when you least expect they may help you too.

@alessandrocesar91977 жыл бұрын

@Jennifer Ians Before making snippy comments, how about you know what's going on and who's doing what job on this helicopter. Apparently, you are blind and missed the medical crew running forward at 14:27? If time was critical, they wouldn't have shutdown the helicopter and loaded the patient(s) quickly. After, he's one of the pilots, and not an actual member of the medical staff working on the patient.

@alessandrocesar91977 жыл бұрын

Who needs a checklist
@alessandrocesar91976 жыл бұрын
All of us ;) And it's followed at the begining of the service, checking all the systems, calmly, when time is at our side. When a HEMS flight is required, all we have to do is just turn the engines on, all the systems, check the panel and go. We'd love the victims would have 10 minutes more waiting for us, but many time that is impossible, like this one in the video. It's our mission. Anyway, keep using all the safety tools as possible to keep flying safe ;)
@atypeandshadow6 жыл бұрын
Alessandro Cesar I was being sarcastic. I’m aware that engine start, and all gauges indicating proper levels/operation is good to go. I understand. “Mate what took you all so long!?” “Oh yeah the first officer wanted to run a checklist.” However I did notice you did go over stuff once you made it to the site, and before you lift off we’re good to go. I thought it was strange though to see the pilot to your left step out on the scene? Is there a reason that occurred? I was under the impression that with HEMS the medical personnel on board leave the aircraft? God Bless, and clear skies Sir.
@alessandrocesar91976 жыл бұрын
Hi Kent Innes nice to hear from you again ;) Yeah, no lights blinking at the panel and gauges ok :) The second pilot stands at the place near the tail rotor for safety reasons ( the aircraft is still working for one minute before shutting off) , while our crew member goes forward with the doctor and nurse. God bless us all ;)
