People who said that this is not realistic, keep in mind that this was released back in 2010, it is the 1st time we ever saw an (pretty) accurate tsunami on screen, before that all the tsunami sequence in Movies were too huge and inaccurate. Of course The Impossible released in 2012 had more realistic looking wave than this movie.

I've seen Tsunami with my own eyes, water don't just washed inland like that, usually the water will recede very far and for a long time that people will realize there's something wrong, unlike in this video. Also as many has pointed out, the water is too clean. It would lift dirt and sand as soon as it reached land so it'll very murky.

Just watching this mother and her daughter get swept by the wave as they scream in agony as they get swept through the debris and bushes underwater. @ShowRenderAgenciaDigital9

For everyone saying that the water is too clean, the creators probably know, it was probably just for the underwater scene.
@alaynawood158410 жыл бұрын
From what i've seen in documentaries, this is not very realistic. I watched the 2004 tsunami documentary and it didn't rush in like a huge wave, the water levels just rapidly rose and flooded the land. Also the water was brown and murky. I thought The Impossible portrayed the tsunami more realistically.

I mean the graphics is like CGI but it's realistic in a way of how the tsunami was devastating the towns across the Indian Ocean!😱🌊

Personnaly, I prefered the tsunami scene from « The Impossible » with Naomi Watts, Tom Holland... the wave was so realistic omg😢 one of the best and sadest movie since Titanic in 1997
