She was once a Soubrette Soprano, now I believe shes a Dramatic Soprano
Born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in a small community called Poole Creek, Pace first emerged during the mid-1970s, performing alongside her siblings in the group The Anointed Pace Sisters. Her singing and ministering skills were further honed while she toured with the Rev. Gene Martin and the Action Revival Team, and in 1988 she recorded In the House of the Lord with Dr. Jonathan Greer and the Cathedral of Faith Church of God in Christ Choirs for Savoy Records. The label signed Pace as a solo artist soon after, and in 1990 she issued her debut He Lives, which reached the number two spot on the Billboard gospel charts and featured her signature song "I Know I've Been Changed"; the follow-up, Shekinah Glory, appeared in 1993. Three years later, Pace returned with Wealthy Place; in addition to successive releases including 1998's Just Because God Said It, she also enjoyed a career as an actress, most notably co-starring as the Angel of Mercy in the 1992 Steve Martin film Leap of Faith. In 2003, Pace authored an autobiography entitled For My Good But For His Glory in which she discussed a wide range of topics, including the death of her first-born daughter, Xenia. LaShun was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame[3] in 2007. She was to be at the official presentation ceremony with numerous other guests to be formally inducted, but fell ill and was unable to attend.

Are you insane. This is disgusting from start to finish, with zero musicality and zero artistry, just grotesque death wailing noises that are all off pitch. Only demented people could believe that this has any human connection to music. Truly God awful.

You are nuts. This is nothing but grotesque in every way. Zero musicality, just disgusting noises. Black people must be truly demonic to see anything beautiful or musical in this. Try Aretha or Candi or Whitney and you'll encounter the beauty of music, rather than the death wails of the Devil

Soprano, Soprano, Soprano!!!!! LaShun is a high 1st Soprano. I think she is a Spinto Soprano rather than a Dramatic Soprano. Her tone in the middle register is still very light. She just has a very good belting register and uses it comfortably.

Well a soubrette is traditionally seen as a type of operatic role, not a voice type per say. At her age Lashun is definately not a soubrette because no woman ever stays a soubrette. They normally grow into coloraturas or lyrics. Lashun is definately a spinto soprano. Spintos are classified by how their voice "pierces" through the music as opposed to a dramatic which carries "over" the music i.e. Jennifer Hudson. Listen to the way her voice pierces thru it all..great video!!
@firethroughtheskies2648
@firethroughtheskies2648 2 жыл бұрын
Her voice is even smaller and higher than soprano leggero (coloratura). She's a sopranino (highest type of soprano). It means she's 'ultra light lyric' if that make sense. Soubrette is probably the word OG use to describe both leggero and ino. They both known to have effortless childlike and sweet timbre. Yeah not all women stay sopraninos throughout their entire life.

It's just a pitchy noise, nothing great about this, it appeals to educationally sub-nornal blacks, nobody else. When you compare this wretched ugly noise with true black singing greats like Aretha or Whitney or Candi, there is no comparison. This is disgusting, it isn't gospel music, it is death wailing and it sounds grotesque.

@@icybluemaya7372 I'm telling the truth, the black community have gone from producing beautiful music with great singing with musical merit, to this modern Devil worship, the sounds of Devil worship, endless wretched ugly wiling sounds, just a noise which is an affront to decency and an insult to music. You people are crazy and must be evil to be turned on by such grotesque sounds of people producing horrific noises that simply are not musical. It's just a vile pitchy noise. If you want black gospel that is musical, that is a thing of artistic beauty, listen to Aretha sing gospel as a teenager or a young woman or when she was in her 40s, or Ann Nesby, or Vanessa Bell, or Tamela Mann or Ce Ce Winans, or Deniece Williams, or Candi Staton, these are beautiful voices with musical merit. Or the older greats like Marion Williams or Inez Andrews.
