So rare to see Cliff performing live in a video. I bought Cliff em All soon as it came out in 1987 if I recall correctly. I was 17 in 11th grade. I remember watching parts of this concert and being really angry Cliff has died. I remember watching Metallica move and talk for the first time on that old VHS tape. @@betterthanmost9549 I believe you're referring to the middle of the song when the tempo goes up a tiny bit but where there's no double picking. But I was also referring to the fact that they don't cut anything, and also that Lars is double kicking during the instrumental break in the last stanza before the chorus and also in the outro; just like on the album, which was never done live again. @hyperslow38106 ай бұрын
You are trying to play it too fast. You cant overdo the speed till you have the song down 100%. You are trying to emulate the best at doing that so natually unless you have the movements as second nature you are going to over grip and get jerky and stiff. I have been playing for going on 15 years now and I still struggle with James playing just cuz he is so fast and perfect at all times. He is a machine. We are not suppsed to be able to play it like him that is why he is him ya know? On a side note I checked out your page. I like your vibe man. That set you played in the park looked really fun and everyone looked like they were having a great time.
@bathory50266 ай бұрын
The trick with James is the way he holds the pick and how he doesn't have to hold his arm up. It mostly just hangs there. It's much harder when you play in standard picking and strap height, which makes me appreciate Kirk more for pulling it off.
