@@YoureEasyToTrollit’s crazy how brainwashed Jordan fans are. I’m not saying Jordan wasn’t the best of his time but half of the guys guarding him were either smaller and not athletic or bigger and way less athletic not just compared to Jordan but compared to the average player today. When Jordan met a rare match of someone who was also a 6’6 or bigger elite athlete he didn’t look so dominant.
@YoureEasyToTroll9 ай бұрын
@@juju-vl7oj THIS THIS THIS THIS^^^^^^ Yes!!! It’s not to say he wasn’t dominant but Penny Reggie Lewis Drexler Magic gave him problems. And he rarely had to guard that guy because there’s so many undersized guards. And because of the expansion era many players were coming into the league that wouldn’t have been 10 years prior. So that 3rd best player on a college championship team is now starting in the NBA whereas I’m 1980 he wouldn’t have made it in the league at all.
@juju-vl7oj9 ай бұрын
@@YoureEasyToTroll yup, what’s crazy to me is if you ask the average basketball fan how good would Jerry West be if he played today they’ll say he’d be worse because the athletes weren’t as evolved in his era. In 1969 Jerry West was the first ever finals mvp and the best guard in the league, Jordan’s career began just 15 years later in 1984 and they act like huge jump in evolution happened and if Jordan played today he’d average 40 or 50 lol. If anything Jerry West era was way harder for a guard with no 3 point line , only 8-12 teams and even stricter rules on traveling. By the mid 90s to late sure Jordan lost a step but the young players coming in like Penny and Grant weren’t really that far off in talent. They’ll say 6 rings is the proof he’s the goat as if it’s not a team sport but Jordan lost 9 times in 15 seasons , his team had an under .500 record 5 times, and there are plenty of examples of him not playing great in big playoff games, he just attempted a lot of shots so the points look ok but he shot like 30% or worse. So when he wins he’s the goat but when he lost they go to every excuse possible and all of the sudden it being a team sport matters a lot lol you can look at many of the all time greats careers and see they would have more championships if they didn’t have years where simply their TEAM wasn’t championship quality . Sure it’s not all luck to win titles but the timing worked out perfectly for Jordan to win those titles and 96-98 Bulls were by far the best supporting cast any 90s player had to go along with the fact the league was watering down significantly. It’s pure brainwashing that people overlook these things because Jordan was “cool” had a flashy style and was marketed and advertised like he was a God.

For the kids watching this probably because they always hear the Jordan and LeBron Debate. Grant Hill was an all time great talent that injuries derailed what could have been (See Tracy McGrady) as well. Grant Hill was bigger and faster than Jordan with a crossover out of this world. Hill was that dude when he was healthy. He Posterized plenty of people, broke ankles and shook Jordan plenty of times. He just couldn’t stay Healthy. They were compared to each other before the injuries. Jordan probably had better on ball defense and midrange. Everything else Hill was better, faster, handles, he could jump out the gym just like Mike. They were pretty even for a stretch. Tracy McGrady another guy derailed by injuries…possibly could have been one of the best players EVER. He was unstoppable when healthy. When Healthy Tracy McGrady was THAT DUDE.
