Michelle won the hearts of the people, which is worth much more than a gold medal. She was highly sought after after her reaction to winning silver. Tara had excellent jumps, but almost no artistry she was just a jumper and without those jumps, no one would ever look twice at her. No one. This is absolutely aparent when you watch any of her videos alongside skaters known for their artistic expression. She stretched out her arms moved her arms around, but the artistry just wasn't there.

Gym Style Kwan did a triple toe..the easiest jump of the six..Tara did triple flips and a technically hard combination. She was robbed of nothing .

So Tara and her tiny jumps wins technical but if you think Tara's presentation deserved 5.8 and higher you know nothing about this sport.

Gym Style Six out of nine international judges ranked her 1st for her jumping sequences and her artistic passion ( to name few things : a combination never performed triple loop-triple loop, two triple jumps placed 15 seconds before the end of the program - her step sequences were performed in both directions often in circular - and what speed what energy a real will-o'-the-wisp). you do not know anything about figure skating. kwan did not take any risk in technique. it's not unique in gracefully skating like an opera ballerina that you're an accomplished sportsman. to merit the gold medal you have to be bolder in all areas. !

Michelle changed the entire skating system and the way they judge the skaters. She was judged poorly at the Olympics to where all her Olympic skating performance were by the the best of all the rest. Watch her Lyra Angelica comparison to oksana baiul, you be like "oksana won gold for that?"
