What's with all the ignorant "land every jump on two feet" comments? She doesn't land any that way. I too, remember watching this back in 1994, and it was obvious the moment she came off the ice that she was going to win. This routine had more speed, more variation, and just plain more fun in it than anyone else's. The idea that this isn't artistry because she "danced" and shook up the routine with popular music and some jitter bug is nonsense. She didn't fall, she stuck her triples. She did make one mistake where it looked like she bailed on a triple and turned it into a double. But I really think the overall playfulness and fun of the routine is what won the judges over. I don't understand why people are so bitter towards her. She was great.

@@chriscoyne9717 Agreed. I'm not saying the attack on Kerrigan was OK, but the way Kerrigan milked it for everything it was worth was nauseating, like she'd bravely overcome an amputation, or, as you say, a shattered knee ☺ Fact is that although she suffered bruising, she was back on the ice within a few days and doing back-to-back run-throughs of her routine within two weeks. From what I read from the history, 1994 was the year when the skaters started to put more jumps in their performances. So many also happened in that year. Including what happened between Nancy and Tonya. and that year, 1994, was the year when the legendary and irreplaceable king of ice was born, our Yuzuru Hanyu 😊

Oksana B., I loved her performance and was thrilled she won the gold. I’m American, I was confused how any of my friends and associates could think Nancy was the clear winner. Now; in 2023, watching both performances again, twice. Both ladies delivered exceptional performances and Nancy’s performance is more eloquent than I remember. I still feel OB was the gold winner. She was superior in technique and body movements as eloquent as a seasoned Prima Ballerina. Such a gorgeous skater.

She was a teenager back then...she strugled to be there...she went thru some diffucult stuff ...and after watching each program she performed ...you just have to cry and feel happy...there were some many things going on during those moments in that tournament.....a real soap opera....and Oksana just made everything better...what a year!

Angry Figure Skating Fans - they think they're so cultured and erudite. And then they bash an orphan girl who suffered a pretty bad injury during a practice. Even soccer "hooligans" wouldn't stoop to those levels.

So glad to see time has done it's justice. Nancy did great and a very clean performance, well put together, but Oksana is simply a better skater. All the doubts and speculation of Nancy doing better is now a thing of the past.

The greatest of all time on the 3Lz, 3Lo, 2A, and especially 3S. The enormous height, the toe point in the air, the gorgeous takeoff and landing positions, the lightness of it all. Who else could have a 3S as a highlight. I've watched so many figure skaters over the years and Oksana still has the best solo jump repertoire. I really wish we could've seen a clean flip here though.

This is what figure skating should be. Her graciousness reminded me Ekaterina Gordeeva when she was skating with her Sergey. That year in Lillehamner they also won gold. And holy craaaaaap like Japanese filming in 1994 in full HD 😳

Her triple lutz at 0:54 has incredible height and so well done. Nancy did a triple lutz that was very good too and much later in her program. As good as the lutz was her triple loop at 1:54 is even more impressive with the height and distance traveled over the ice. Followed by a light and airy very well executed triple salchow at 2:22 is probably what clinched the gold for her. Look at her careful positioning of her free leg just prior to takeoff on that salchow, wow ! (see it in slo-mo at 4:37)

She was so young and had so many pressures on her. I'm sure that wonderful performance meant a great deal to her. She was probably thinking of her mother too. She did an amazing job & I was very happy for her. And as an American who has seen judges cheat us many times. I'm so proud that with so much on the line, our Judge gave her the great marks she deserved.. Thats how it should be when so earned! God bless her.
