I bought one of those brand new at Past and Present Bike Works back in the day it was a nightmare with issues but I still loved it. Maintenance was easy, check the fluids, yes three puddles of each. Traded it in on a 1987 Softail custom that was stolen from work and the thief killed himself out running the police after he hit a pop machine at 70 miles an hour by trying to cut through the SOHIO gas station lot, after hitting the coke machine he was partially strained through a chain link fence. Good times

Just saw this video..a year late....feed back, I like your attitude and videos ....83 sturgis...I didn't think they made past 82...the lowrider got the belts...no more sturgis... I bought an 81 when I was 19.( new)..and a 91 when I was 40..(used).they are almost original in looks and stock.( unlike the bike in this video)..the 81 sturgis was the original blacked out belt drive HD..the 91 was to introduce the dyna frame, which brought the look back to traditional from the fxr frame....16 bikes in my collection...obviously the 81 is my soulmate. Ride true for yourself.

Haha, it’s hard to keep everyone happening. I get a lot of comments asking about how they can support the channel, and that I should start patreon. I also get asked a lot about merchandise. It’s just part of the process for making a brand that’s profitable, and not a hobby that takes finances away from life’s necessities! If I ever do any of it, it will likely be pretty low key.

Awesome video! Your video editing skills are getting better all of the time. One suggestion, when you plug someone else's site, include the link in the description. 1) I'm lazy 2) I want to watch the whole video at once instead of pausing it and looking up the site or going back and searching for the part where the URL is mentioned (Kind of part of number one). Keep up the awesome videos!
@TheHarleyTech6 жыл бұрын
Oh hell. I was supposed to do that...
@SRKASM016 жыл бұрын
You could have added it in your reply to me...just saying. Quick question, I just converted a friend of mine's 2005 Road Glide to a trike. He's in his late 60's and just wants to ride. Do you think that the added expense of changing the triple tree to change the steering dynamics is worth it? There are a lot of companies that sell triple trees that improve steering on trike conversions.
@TheHarleyTech6 жыл бұрын
I’ve ridden both versions, if it’s already together, what does he think about it? It is slightly better with a different steering angle, but to a young guy with plenty of upper body strength, it’s not worth the cost. A fella that was getting older, Might like to have it easier! Also, I’m on my phone, so changing that stuff is a pain. Thanks for heads up, and check the video description. I updated it.
@SRKASM016 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I'll bring it up to him. Great old guy! I've put thousands of miles on the road with him. He can no longer hold up a bike, hence the trike modification. I'll suggest the triple tree upgrade to him. I'd miss him on the road.

@davidsnow24206 жыл бұрын
hey bmp72, I have an original black and orange 1982 Sturgis. I think the brown & gold color scheme on yours was a rare one-year-only color option to mark the MoCo's buyback from AMF. All the previous Sturgis models were black & orange. Hope you keep yours stock!
