It's absolutely no competition. Venus was my favorite character in Sailor Moon, orange even became my favorite color because of her but after Cwi took over Sailor Moon, I almost couldn't stand Venus due to her voice. Stephanie's voice is amazing in general and it fits Venus perfectly. She's an amazing voice actress :)

I really like both of them! Both were different takes on her. The CWi one sounded more "girly" I think? While the DiC was more "leader-like." Although if I had to pick one, I think the DiC one's a little better! =)

Dic sounds nice and calming for minako and that's great because because she's joining the group and it's like a calm celebrity because she's sailor v . I love stephanie

I agree Jon Stephanie Morgenstein brought a sweet personality in Mina/Sailor Venus and honestly I prefer Emilie Barlow as Sailor Mars#2 then Sailor Venus #2 cuz she ruined Stephanie's role when she stepped in CWI.

It isnt a rumor, because there was no Sailor Moon in the Silver Millenium, Sailor Venus lead Mercury Mars and Jupiter in their protection of the Princess. Since Queen Serenity gave Serenity the power to protect herself, Sailor Moon became leader and Sailor Venus second in command to protect Sailor Moon. I know my stuff

@ch2010ize But DiC altered Minako's character a little. They changed lines that made her a ditz and personally I thought their portrayal of Mina made her sound kind of wise and smart, which I liked. Whether people agree with a characters personality or not is up to them, but I think Stephanie gets the character that DiC were trying to portray very well, I loved her voice :)

wiiztec actually the second voice clip is from the Pioneer DVD version of the S Movie which is uncut and uses the original music.

I definitely love Emile Barlow better. Stephanie is great too, but I love Emile's voice for Minako when she talks. It seems more Minako-ish. But both were great for the dubs ^^

I feel this was an unfair comparison. You used Barlow's arguably worst performance of the "Star Power," and used one of Morgenstern's best. If you compare these two specific performances, I prefer Morgenstern, however watching the entire anime overall, I DEFINITELY prefer Barlow's interpretation and take on Mina.

Stephanie fits Venus perfectly, for the original and R seasons. Venus becomes more ditzier in the later seasons, so I think Emillie was the right choice as she sounds more ditzier (not to sound mean lol).

@andredrw289 There was no "defacto" leader of the Sailor Guardians. Under Sailor Moon, they were all equal. Plus, what does mature have to do with being a "defacto" leader. Minako's supposed to sound energetic and and playful, and very similar to Usagi. She's not supposed to sound "mature" because it goes against the nature of the character.

@andredrw289 How is Sailor Venus the leader of the other 3? The show has made it a point many times (and even spent an entire episode on it) that Sailor Moon is the "leader". Plus, when does Sailor Venus ever actually "lead"? Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus are all equal under Sailor Moon. Stephanie wasn't bad, but she did sound too old for 15 (she sounded like she was in her late 20s), and very mature. Emile actually sounded age appropriate, and her voice fit Minako's personality better.

@andredrw289 You... clearly have not read the manga. Sailor Venus worked alone as Sailor V before she joined up with the other Sailor Guardians and became a part of the team. The two Sailor V graphic novels take place before Sailor Moon even begins. After she joined up with the Sailor Guardians, she is never considered a leader by any means. Don't believe all the rumors you read online!

Speaking of Emilie, she previously stood in for Katie Griffin as the voice of Sailor Mars for the final 17 episodes of the DIC dub, which came to be known as "The Lost Episodes." Katie was unavailable for recording at the time, as she was busy shooting a film. When Cloverway took over the English dub of the S and SuperS TV episodes, Katie Griffin returned to the recording booth as Sailor Mars. Katie also voiced Sailor Mars in the Pioneer dub of the Sailor Moon movie trilogy.

@dancerxo13 Oh I 100000000% agree with you! I almost couldn't even watch seasons 3 and 4. The only voices I found tolerable were the voices that had the same voice actors! (Except Ami's new voice wasn't as horrible as everyone else's) And I think Stephanie was the best actress of them all :)
