1. SATA HDD: These are the most common type of HDD used in NVR systems. They are easy to install and provide high storage capacity for recording video footage. SATA HDDs are connected to the NVR using a SATA cable and are typically installed inside the NVR's chassis.
2. Surveillance HDD: These HDDs are specifically designed for use in surveillance systems, including NVRs. They are optimized for continuous recording and can handle the high workload demands of surveillance applications. Surveillance HDDs are also installed inside the NVR's chassis, typically using a SATA cable.
Installation of HDD inside NVR:
1. Turn off the NVR and disconnect it from the power source.
2. Open the NVR chassis by removing the screws or latches on the side or back of the unit.
3. Locate the HDD bay inside the NVR chassis. This is where the HDD will be installed.
4. If there is a pre-installed HDD, carefully disconnect the SATA cable and power cable from the HDD.
5. Slide the new HDD into the HDD bay, making sure it is properly aligned with the SATA and power connectors.
6. Connect the SATA cable and power cable to the new HDD.
7. Close the NVR chassis and secure it with the screws or latches.
8. Reconnect the NVR to the power source and turn it on.
9. Access the NVR's settings to format the new HDD and configure it for recording.
It is important to follow the manufacturer's instructions and guidelines when installing a new HDD in an NVR to ensure proper installation and functionality.
