I was a six year old white kid growing up in Alloa, Scotland, at that time. Looking back at the lifestyle I`ve led, it`s a miracle I got past 22, but now find 62 fast approaching? I`m forever telling people that my generation have been the most fortunate since time began. We had freedom of speech, home cooked meals, very low crime, good music, full employment, no internet, and the likes of George Soros had not yet risen from the bowels of the earth. But most importantly, no one has ever put a gun in my hand, then ordered me to kill any number of complete strangers, in order for my actions to benefit no one, except those few who create wars for profit. So now, as a 61 year old white man, I think tearfully of the extreme challenges we`re leaving behind for today`s six year olds? Some people may think we`ve progressed as a race, and the future`s some bright utopia for everyone? I do not subscribe to that point of view. I`d pray for peace on earth, but that would be futile, as thank God, I`m an atheist. That`s not entirely true, because I grew up as atheist, but have been 100% agnostic for the past 41 years. A one off meeting with a woman, who worked locally with a spiritualist church, changed my life forever, and only in a good way. I won`t bore you details, but I`ve known for a fact, for over 40 years, that I`d still be alive and well today, at our age. So Jeff, if there`s one piece of advice I`d pass on to any good soul, at any age, would be a simple song title. Don`t fear the Reaper. Peace out, for now brother. ❤

One of the best films of all time and probably the best of the western genre. I saw this at the theater in 1973 or 4 when I was 6. I couldn’t understand the meaning of it at the time of course, but something about it made a deep impression on me even then. I have watched it maybe a half dozen times since, and (if I may be so bold) I think I’m among a small minority of people who actually get this film.

Brilliant editing it's a fantastic montage the song was so perfect they got very lucky to have that song for the bike ride scene it's impossible to imagine that scene now with any other music under it. Everything worked perfectly on this movie. A brilliant script by William Goldman the perfect casting and superb direction by George Roy Hill this was a magical movie then and it's still magical today.

@1:05 is a great memory, while white water rafting the Snake River in Wyoming our guide told us to look up & pointed to the top of a certain section in the canyon wall, he said this was the exact place where Robert & Paul jumped into the river during filming. Haha he was teasing us but sure had me going for a minute 😁, the scenery was just the same, so beautiful and majestic.
