Gosh dang, this thing is like a third of the price of the rift s I need it for. Thank you for the video, it may be expensive but it's cheaper than getting a new laptop.

On closer inspection, this will not work for the rift s as it does not have a high enough bandwidth. Shame, I'm either going to have to return the rift or get a new laptop. My current laptop worked great with the old rift and every other vr headset. But they decided to switch to displayport rather than use hdmi which was the standard. I'm a little salty....

why do you need a box thing, why not just an HDMI male end to displayport male end?

Doesn't work. DP to HDMI doesn't work, as DP signal also sends something called clock sync, which the other end needs to receive. HDMI doesn't have that clock sync, this adapter add that.

I got a hdmi 2.0 laptop, and my monitor only allows 165hz through the display port, if i use hdmi it only allows it to go up to 144hz. Would this work for me, assuming that i want the full 165hz??

@Allen Christian. Lol, I just got the msi monitor, and it only allows 144hz through hdmi, but I assume that you are capped at 120 cuz i just figured out thats that the refreshrate most monitors have it capped at

get a hdmi 2.0 cord it can do 240hz at 1080p and 144hz at 1440p

it seems that nobody has the same problem I do. This may solve my problem, but my monitor has both display port and HDMI, but my monitor has 144hz, but HDMI only supports 120hz, and my laptop and my xbox both do not have display ports in them. I'm hoping that this adapter will let me get all the way to 144hz.

I've been doing some researching about but I'm unsure if this converter unit would work on ASUS ROG Swift PG278Q monitor it only has a Display port on it but I want to convert that monitor DP into a Bi-directional to use it on the Xbox HDMI port and the GPU by their HDMI port not it's own DP on the card if that makes sense to you but I've asking around in some groups on Facebook couldn't find the answer what I was looking for but my graphics card is a ASUS ROG STRIX Radeon RX480 8GB OC before I buy something on Amazon that might not work at all.

This one may not, but some can. It depends on the resolution. If it supports 4K 60hz it should do 1080p 144hz fine!

Dell in the wisdom gave you one HDMI and a DP connection on their Monitors. So spending $100.00 for this adapter is not worth it. As Everybody has moved onto HDMI 2.1....So save the money buy a Monitor that has two HDMI 2.1

Hello Oh Man - this adapter will convert an HDMI input to a Display Port out so you can drive a Display Port Monitor - this adapter is good if you have a device like a laptop or PC which does not have a Display Port output only HDMI and you only have Display Port Monitor like in my case.

I have a 144hz monitor but only through display port, the hdmi is 2.0 and won’t go over 60hz, with the new ps5 coming out if I use this adaptor will I be able to utilize the 120fps from the ps5 on the monitor.

I'm getting the club 3d hdmi 2.0 to displayport 1.2 for this reason to see if i can get it to go higher to at least 120hz on the xbox one S as a test. I've been playing the ps4 though the displayport for a good whole now but that only does 60hz and the cord only does 4k30hz so it drags the 1440p to 60hz. Hoping this one works so i can do ps5 on it!

I just got the club 3d cable in yesterday but haven't had the chance to test it. The box says "resolution up to 4096 x 2160" so thinking that's the cap for 4k. I know what you mean by fake cables though, I've been looking and a lot of them looked shady. The other one I have was the closest I could find to anywhere near this new one which will be tested today

Alright. So just tested the cord out and got 120hz at 1440p. So the club 3d one works, just takes a little vit of tweaking. Mine first put the display at 720p at 60hz but gave me the options to change both in the tv and display options. So the club 3d one works. I haven't tested this adapter since I think it only does 1080p
