Good research. Well presented. The ship itself is excellent as an all rounded multi-capability weapon and as such is going to lack in some areas but it lacks just a little here and there. This makes it a good value for the purchase price. It is very much in the military world kinda of a commercial off the shelf package/ship which provides the most ship for the money even if it contains no earth shattering technological break through. The first cost is very favorable and the performance should be adequate.

This is the Danish warship that circumnavigates Greenland on a regular basis. This is the original variant with two seperate 76mm Oto Melara up front. The Arrowhead second version replaces the second 76 with a 35mm Seawizard and the first 76 with a 5inch (cruiser caliber) main gun.

Yep, they are capable of it. Hopefully, at least a couple, of our future patrol class vessels, will be fitted to do this as well. We are, however, still lacking in the AWS capacity. Then again, these are Frigates, not Destroyers. Small country with anti-military politicians.

the danish navy (along with many european navy's) dont really use the term "destroyer". even to this day there is not a danish word for it. The reason is because of the lack of torpedo-destroyer boats in the armed service of such navies at the beginning of the 20th century. The torpedo destroyer is an upgunned torpedo boat designed to kill other torpedo boats (hense the name). The class eventually got bigger and lost the torpedo in its name which left it with "destroyer" part.

@@jakobole Its the same design as the zeven provincien class. With much less capabilities than that class , and they say it outperforms all other ships of its class. And for a fact that they dont have balistic defence capabilities or a radar that can track targets 2000 km away . so you can see there is a problem there . and with the comming midlife update , upgrading its main gun ,cruise missles and standard missle block 3 to counter balistic missles. more VLS than the iver huitveld So iver huitveld not exactly in the same league as the zeven provincien class. It might look likeone but its not even close.
