"Roger calls group hug" - that moment, it was that friggin' moment, they could have done it. It wasn't even a matter of money, if they wrote a new album together it would simply obliterate all charts worldwide. All that effin' bad blood. Now Rick is gone, Nick is retired, David just sporadically writes stuff with his daughter and Roger does nostalgia tours. They could do it, that moment at time. This timeline, just a few nudges to the right direction(s) and so much more great music would be given to the world.

Beautiful story ad! Quite some years back I heard my son of early teens blaring Twisted Sister (or Bent Brother, not sure) from his bedroom through his new stereo (that's what we used to call them). I heard myself say, "What the hell is that noise? You can't even understand a word they're saying! I had a sudden flash that my father had said the same thing, and immediately realized that I had to do something. I grabbed "Dark Side of the Moon", headed down the hall and opened his door and said, "here, put this on!" He did. It was incredibly heart warming to realize that he fell in love with it. Music does reach through dementia and connect us to our loved ones. One time in her nursing home, I sung a line to my mother who had severe dementia..."I'm an old cowhand, on the Rio Grande..." She pulled herself upright in her wheelchair and proudly shouted out the next line, "and my legs ain't bowed, and my cheeks ain't tanned." Lordy I didn't even remember that, but someone who never spoke awakened to herself and her memories, if even for only a few minutes. Bless you and your love for your dad.

That's like putting my hand in the meat grinder and then expecting people to feel sorry for me. Smh. If more people were like me wars wouldn't exist. I'll never thank any veteran for their service because doing so means I have to accept the premise of whatever war they fought in and the premises for all th US wars are of corporate nature. There's a brilliant version of Comfortably Numb that Waters and Company played at the Berlin Wall when it was brought down. Van Morrison, Joni Mitchell, and Levon Helm join in, but it's Van The Man who stirs the soul like no other. There's a DVD of the whole show, but I think this particular number may be on KZbin. Check it out.

Was fortunate enough to see them at Wembley and can say it is probably the greatest concert I've ever been to. Introduced my son to David's music very early because it was always playing in the car. Wish You Were Here always gets to me. It reminds me of my Granny (she took care of me most of my life) who passed away 6 years ago. She was the one who introduced me to Floyd. When I was in my early to mid teens, she bought me The Wall and DSOTM for Christmas. I gave her a look like, wth is this? Before I could say anything, she said, "Go to your room, lay down, put on your headphones, and just listen. Trust me, you'll love it." I did. In fact, I did more than that. I cried; cried tears of joy for listening to the most beautiful music in the world for the first time in my life. When I finished listening to both albums, I went downstairs with a smile on my face. My Granny smiled back at me and said, "See? What did I tell you?" I remember us watching Live 8 together on the TV. We loved every second of PF's performance, agreeing that it was a great idea that they were one of the last acts because you MUST save the best for last. I love you, Granny. I wish you were here.

Roger is clenching his jaws and playing the life out of that bass. David has got the ”thousand-yard-stare”,and has merged with the music, way out in space or other dimensions. Nick throws his headphones and later shows a awesome ”fighting-face” , shredding the skin of those poor drums. YEAH , they know it is the last time. ”I’m gonna go with a bang , dudes”.

The genius arose from the diversity of these two extraordinary musicians. The side effect of this diversity is that the two don't always get along well, but it is precisely out of this tension that the great things were born. I can understand that one does not get along with these conflicts so well in old age.

@Hingle McCringleberry I know, I saw it. I think he's in denial, the way he talks about how he remembers things vs how someone else remembers things. A bit like Ian Anderson from Tull, when he talks about past members of the band.

Never sow them live To young, they were in Wien 94. Division Bell tour, that was nearest, I'm from Zagreb and then 13 years old And what happend Nick Mason came to Zagreb last year with Saucerful tour and I played old songs, first 4 albums, before Dark Side You can't imagine how happy I was

Missed The Wall as i was at school and couldn't get away, friend gave away my ticket. Sold my Division Bell tickets as my wife was giving birth....but 3 days later, their last night at Earls Court, she sent me packing and I bought a ticket outside which nearly required a mortgage and took all the cash I had. Came out to find my car had been towed away. BUT it was amazing and so glad I went. Phenomenal, edge of seat stuff. Well worth it despite the cost and some comments over the years from 'er indoors!

Words can’t describe just how brilliantly talented these guys are, music I grew up with and now at 60 can crank up the volume and it still sounds as brilliant as it did back years ago, thank god that these guys came together to form one of the best bands ever and to give so much pleasure to all of us with the commitment and dedication to music over all these years is truly commendable, legends all of them.

I am 66, this band has been in my head since I bought Meddle and then Dark Side and I cannot get enough of them after all these years. Music is so emotive and theirs bring back so many good and bad memories for me of people come and gone and times that have disappeared over time and tears form when Dave Gilmore lets rip - its just so bloody emotional! Thank God for them and their legacy and electrickery so we can always access their brilliance!

I grew up with the same albums, and I think that "band" is a reductive word for these artists.. Same for ELP, Yes, King Crimson and not for many other groups.. I'm still looking for an appropriate word....... ( I'm 66 too 😉 )

Being a poor student in another country at the time I naturally couldn't attend the event. But having first been utterly sad for being born too late to see them perform live at all and then being able to watch this one live through the Internet was.. magical. I remember crying almost through the gig and now that I watch it again 14.5 years later I still get shivers on my spine and tears in my eyes.
