The HDS200S series is marketed as an oscilloscope with additional DMM and AWG modes! If I just wanted a really good multimeter (for $160), the HDS242s would not be my first choice! But, if I wanted a incredibly cool three function device, this device fits the bill exactly!!! I think you could probably fix most of your complaints with a FW upgrade!!! BTW, nice Siglent bench top scope!!! Thanks for the enjoyable video!

Thanks for the honest review. Sounds to me like it's great handheld oscilloscope with added crappy DMM functionality as an afterthought. I'm looking for a great DMM with o-scope as an afterthought so this review helped.

I just bought one of these and so happy with it. I needed a scope with a floating ground for working on tube equipment. I have two other multimeters that are made by Fluke. One suggestion for you, don't store the meter in the case with the display facing up if you also have all the probes in the same case. Your display will thank you.

Just picked one up after my old meter died and i needed an oscilloscope for basic guitar pedal and amp trouble shooting/building. The included probes are certainly causing the majority of that delay in continutiy mode. They were the same with the meter I got which is the exact same model HDS242S. Once i plugged in my own probes that delay was gone. The way i see it is this. The included probes for the meter and scope will get you by and if you dont have any its nice that they included them. But the device itself would be significantly improved in its performance by simply picking up a set of quality probes. I currently dont have any other oscilloscope probes but i plan on getting some decent ones that will last. I build and mod guitar pedals and amps and guitars regularly and for my purposes this meter has done great so far.

I followed a tip from a recent video and cleaned my new multimeter probes with 91% alcohol. The slow response to shorting the probes was gone. I assume there is some kind of coating on them from manufacturing. The Hantek 2D47 has the same features on a much better device. I love mine.

... that little notch in the rectangle and triangle signal is the signal ringing on the non-terminated BNC cable...

Hi. Change the probes for better ones, the continuity test will be much faster (I checked). Does your hds242s has a problem with voltage drift on the oscilloscope while warming up? I mean indications of the "mean" option. If so - how does the oscillogram behave then? Does it flow about the x-axis?

Hi! Is the real sampling rate 250m/s in single channel or 125m/s? In some announces is written 125m/s, in OWON site is 250. The Hantek concurrent is 250m/s per channel.
@KeanM3 жыл бұрын
The specs say 250MSa/s sampling for the oscilloscope and 125MSa/s for the function generator. As the ADC is apparently only specified for 100MSa/s, I suspect they are running it overclocked and interleaved. So with both oscilloscope channels enabled, you lose the interleaving and I'd expect sample rate to be only 125MSa/s.

Hi,, love the video,, the dmm function does it auto range? Acv dcv , resistance and capacitance? What is the max capacitance range? Thanks much

Do you know if it has adjustable duty cycle on the square wave generator?
@coptertim3 жыл бұрын
I just found your question. I have not found a duty cycle adjustment on mine. If you go to circuitspecialists. com they have a downloadable manual for the 2000 series Hanteks that should cover it. I will check mine again and let you know if I fine it. BR, Tim.

Does it have REL or autozero?

Интересная модель осциллографа, хотелось бы сравнение характеристик этого прибора с Hantek 2D72 увидеть.

Yeah, that is the closest competitor I think. They're VERY similar in specs, but the Owon has a bigger screen and what seems to me to be a better laid out interface.
