OP vs OP Mirror matchup! The mass raven is actually really impressive. The SC2 dynamic is always changing and i love it! Even though i dont play terran, its really cool to see yet another strange build that can work! Definetly feels like something that TLO could could come up with!

@2000mAh Yea i get that, but I have tried so many things and no matter what I do I just cant get enough forces out. Tried stalkers, fenixes, combinations of the two and so on. HT with storms will prob not do well against those fast mutas. Got any tips perhaps?

@Heteroptics It would matter who saw who first, since if he can throw those seeker missles/turrets first, then the ravens, if ghosts emp'd first, ravens are completely screwed. But yeah, ghost/viking i think would be a complete counter, emp to make sure ptt can't be put up, and then the vikings to finish them.

@Heteroptics Would make sense. Think of it like this. What if instead of auto-turrets from Trrns, it was the photon cannons from Protoss? Protoss players did this a lot especially if you were a newbie. He took a classic Protoss move, and modified it with Terran Technolgoy. I admit I didn't think it would work, but what the heck it did.

@LOLatyUo higher tech units like ravens cost a lot of gas, so thats why he needed to get a bunch of gas to support his army.

Isnt there like two different achievements based on ravens? One for destroying X amount of SCVs with autoturrets and another for destroying X units with seeker missiles. I played one game with nothing but Ravens just to get these two achievements could be what he was doing here maybe?

Ghosts might work depending who was paying more attention to their army, as raven's have a larger sight range then ghosts. The ravens could see the ghosts, fire off a few seeker missiles, then rinse and repeat.

I saw, today, think it was in that Korean GSL tourney? A mass Raven build. Mostly auto-turrents, no seeker missiles. GreenPine should've probably PDDed a bit more.

WOW, HD were have you been. I had someone pull this build on me prolly 3-4 weeks ago. I won, but it was tough. I basically countered it with Mass Viking/Marine. He would either waste energy on PDD or Seeker Missle. Eventually after like 1.5 hrs I managed to win, and we had mined out the entire map. LOL. I did eventually get Thors out, and they worked well, just marines are obviously cheaper and easier to pump out.

Marines + Valkyries seems to me to be a good counter. Both relatively cheap units making seeker missiles much less effective with proper micro and spacing.

@IhateJohnMayer so you can't tell how long the game is, which inherently lets you know what kind of game it will be. A ten or fifteen minute game implies a rush strategy, longer implies a drawn out battle. Not knowing the actual length beforehand means you can't really predict what will happen at what point. It makes it more interesting.

@Jagdepanzer38t i would at least think that it would not work. cause it requires energy. i dont think it can be so cheaply defended against. if the projectiles REALLY included projectiles that would mean literally everything in the terran arsenal. marines bullets, tanks cannons etc. maybe its more of the bigger and slower projectiles like the shells or hydras spines and stalkers laser beams

@fiend7777 You just have to have massive ghost w/ vikings &/or BC to counter. The key is to EMP or in SC/BW lockdown the science vessels. Same tactic. The only issue is Macro-Manage Skills.

leave it to koreans to completely use a single unit to the max and show us the true extent of each unit in this game.. more players need to fully understand the units in order to stray away from the conventional builds in every match.. as tzutzescu pointed out, ghosts could have done a lot of damage to the ravens.. i have said this before but i always loved HD and ever since the masterasia game, he is pulling out more and more epic replays. thanks to him we watch very unconventional matches :)

Even one EMP would have completely ruined the Raven strategy since air units have a tendency to clump up. As soon as most of the Ravens were drained, move in Vikings to finish them.
