The redevelopment of Lumios city? Huh sounds like they are basing this around the time of the redevelopment of Paris wich is what Lumios city and kalos is based on. Btw the redevelopment of Paris happened in the 1850's. Haussmann's renovation of Paris was a vast public works programme commissioned by French Emperor Napoleon III and directed by his prefect of the Seine, Georges-Eugène Haussmann, between 1853 and 1870. This is around the same time Japan started their research and development of Hokkaido wich means this is around the same time as Legends Arceus time Era wich is the 1850's to 1880's.

I'm not surprised that they didn't show more. They released early game footage of PLA and most people criticized it for how bad it looked (thankfully the actual game cleaned a lot of that up). I can't wait to get more details on the game and hopefully the extra time will pay off in a better product.

Lie lie lie. Everyone I kid you not everyone overhyped the living hell out of that game. They praised the way it looked regardless of the obvious barren sight that was right in front of them. The game hardly showed better gameplay by release. Only to realise there's really nothing to do other than fill your pokedex 4 times. Clearly those that overhyped legends arceus (99.9% of people) have never played BOTW and I hope one day they realise it was never the god send of pokemon.

I’m actually glad TPCI is doing this. I was getting really tired of all the back and forth rumors about Gen 2 and Gen 5. If any of the past regions prior to Gen 9 needed to be revisited, it was definitely Kalos. There were a lot of things that were missing in X and Y. They didn’t feel complete.

The redevelopment of Lumiose probably hints at the real life event of the redevelopment of Paris wich happens in the 1850's, just like how legends Arceus is based on how in real life Japan developed Hokkaido. You documents the wildlife in Hisui just like the japanese did. Legends is based in the past not the future so i doubt it. Would make no sense they would make a future Legends games since legends are of the past not the future.

Don’t know about the rest of you guys who were expecting Johto and Unova games (sorry you were disappointed btw), but I’m genuinely glad we’re getting another Kalos story. To be honest, I’ve been waiting for this since we were robbed of a third mainline Kalos title, the fabled ‘Pokémon Z.’ And the fact that Mega Evolution is returning is a huge deal for me because I love and have missed that battle mechanic! I did hope we’d get another game to focus on this year though. But in hindsight, the company focusing a lot of their attention on the new Legends game is a big deal, as it will likely have excellent quality and care being poured into it. So, I’m looking forward to what they present to us with Legends Z-A.

@@DiamondBeyblade While I see your point, the subject of the next Switch console is one thing to take in account. Better system, (better engine, maybe), better quality. It’s not fair to assume bad quality because of the company itself. I know not a lot of Pokémon games have the best quality, but that doesn’t mean they’re terrible either. SwSh and Legends Arceus were great for what they were, so why wouldn’t Legends Z-A be any worse with the timeframe of development it’s been given for a 2025 release? Even if the quality might not be the greatest, I believe it will look good and have minimal game issues like SV has.

The "A" is lamda and its used In quantum mechanics, lambda is the symbol for wavelength, which describes how subatomic particles move and interact. Possibly pointing to zygarde being broken up into many pieces or they're going to introduce another legendary

Who’s to say that this can’t take place in the future? They clearly have the catching mechanic, battling mechanic, and pokeballs look developed or not new tech. The clothing is modern. Who says we’re not developing a more futuristic Lumiose City? Clemont was tinkering with technology in Gen 6 too. It would explain the increase in Mega Pokes (finding more “lost” mega stones) in the region. The drawing of Pikachu looked mechanical until he was colored in. What if there was another War or Cataclysmic event (such as a child manipulating the space time continuum) and Pokemon died out, but thru the study of the PokeDexes could be recreated but mechanically. This ties into the Cyberpunk description and they would need to revitalize/update the city technologically to welcome the return of Pokemon to the world.

@@samgardner4667Kalos is based on Paris, a very very old European city. It's been redeveloped multiple times throughout history, and is even going under one now with the Paris Accords' plans. In the mid 1800's, Paris went under signifcant redevelopment to modernize the city. Kalos is very likely to follow this idea, especially since we know the region has at least been colonized somewhat with the Great War being in that area thousands of years ago. The new plans also don't show anything futuristic in design, rather showing a lot of architecture and infrastructure that fits in the century before modern Kalos. Notice the lack of cars, trains, or much of anything that feeds into what's usually assosciated with futuristic settings. I'd also really like to see a Pokemon game take place in the future at some point, maybe when we eventually get Legends B/W, but everything's pointing to another game with a setting 100+ years ago

Miare City is just the Japanese name for Lumiose City. Also Legends Arceus takes place right analogous to the mid to late 1800s in Japan, assuming this is depicting France industrializing, it's likely that it'll take place in roughly the same time period as Legends Arceus.

If at the start of the game, the city is tiny and the rest of what will be Lumiose is just pure wild area, there could be plenty of space for wild pokemon to roam, and maybe as you go through the game, the city grows and there are less wild areas, until the end of the game where you just have the city. Maybe you'll have to catch all the wild pokemon or fight them away, and move them into certain parts of the city where they can thrive alongside people. The goal does seem to make a place where both can live in. I think this has a lot of potential, its just a matter of execution.

So, it's been a long time since I played X&Y, but as I recall, it had lots of closed off areas, implying the city was MASSIVE but we only went around certain parts of it. I personally think the city will be plenty big enough, with us being able to go all over the city, maybe even under it? Redeveloping would definitely include the sewer system lol. I also think the scenery will be better than Legends Arceus, since there will be detailed buildings instead of empty grasslands and fields. For starter Pokemon, i'd really like Chikorita, I think it would fit well with the setting. Since it's in the past, I do wonder how mega evolution will exist? I thought it was discovered in X&Y, but I could be remembering wrong lol. I hope we'll have every Pokemon that can mega-evolve, tho, bc I love Houndoom's mega evolution lol.

I saw someone pointing out during the German stream, that the Legends logo's colors match those of Diancie. That's actually not a bad idea, since Diancie could be in some way connected to the principle of Mega Evolution. It's origin is still kinda unknown and strange. We only know that it's a mutation of Carbink, which can even mega evolve. But how and why did it mutate? This was never clarified. Maybe we will learn more about that topic in this game.

Fun thing that was actually the first thing I noticed. That first building shown is Professor Sycamore's Pokémon Lab. It appears to be the only building left in tact in it's original state that wasn't updated other than Prism Tower. Even all of the surrounding five circular plazas have been filled and expanded further each one in a different way. Another thing I instantly noticed, that Talonflame is the exact same Fletchling that flew in the opening cutscene waking up the player from bed with Peck. Because it flew out of the ending cutscene after we battle AZ and his Eternal Flower Floetté comes back to him. In the time that's passed since X and Y, Fletchling has fully evolved into Talonflame. And since that Fletchling belonged to our Mom in X and Y Grace, and this is the same one fully evolved years later, we probably will see us, the old player character at some point in the game. Or at least have them mentioned periodically because we did defeat Team Flare and recieve the Ceremony for being awarded The Honor of Kalos. So one way or another, in Pokémon Legends Z-A, we the player will canonically exist alongside ourselves from the past game player Character of Kalos. Likewise with all our friends and other characters. Plus Legends Arceus was in the past, if Legends Z-A is in the future, that would put an eventual Legends Unova game right in between the two but out of order fusing both the past and future. Plus Emmet was probably taken to Legends Z-A and in order for him to reunite with Ingo, the two would have to meet halfway in the middle, between Sinnoh/Hisui and Kalos which is of course their home Region Unova. Plus Gen 5 actually had both past and future elements and thenes and even entire locations that were version exclusive either in the future in Black and Black 2 or the Past in White and White 2. Having two legends games in the past then in the future would fit right in perfectly with Unova once again having both.

As i looked at the the title of the new game, I notice that the Z had hexagon in it just like we know that it represent Zygard's cells. So if you look at bottom legs of the A, you notice it have roots like a plant. Those this mean Zygard will have partner legendary pokemon, Dragon/ Grass. Both work together to bring balance to the world, just as the game focus on coexistence.

You’re also forgetting there city parks, rural areas just outside the city, underground, etc… plenty of ways they can extend the city scape by offering enough areas to explore, not just city limits. Just a thought

They're going hard with the 30th anniversary, I see. They released SV Gen(9) and they're doing a Gen(6) project..'96? They're Celebrating the series as a whole but also, celebrating going into the 30th anniversary. I still believe they'll release a game in late 2025 since Legends are a January release.

I think a possible positive to consider is, if Gen 2 remake wasn't announced now it could be a project held for Switch 2 on a better system & more time invested into it for a better product. In some ways would be a shame to release that end of 2024 or early 2025 and then everyone moves to Switch 2 & It's left behind. They must be aware A LOT of people want HG/SS upscaled and open world, I'm sure it'll be coming on Switch 2 down the line.

Who's to say we won't just have the normal Kalos starters but maybe they'll have Mega Evolutions now? While this COULD be in the past I also think it could be in the future. After all that Lysandre did maybe this is Kalos's way of healing and turning the company he made into something actually beneficial? I think Legends Z-A will be an amazing game, especially if we get a Steel type Eeveelution that matches with the Urban Redevelopment.

Starters? Empoleon (obvious), chikorita (a legends meganium with a more bulky typing to fit the bulky support thing it wants to do would be amazing), and...maybe scorbunny/fuecoco? Megas? Oh, top of the list is 1000% flygon. Other than that...honestly I like the idea of restricting megas to mons that actually need the help, so maybe ones like scrafty, pyroar, ariados, etc?

Extremely curious as to how we will catch wild pokemon in a game set entirely inside a city. The best part of legends arceus was the catching mechanics and traversing the world, so I’m not sure how that will translate to an urban environment. I actually think it could work really well and be really cool, but I just don’t know how yet. Can’t wait to see gameplay

I think the Z-A might mean a new (or old?) form of Zygarde called Zygarde-Alpha. Because it's a Legends game. That might have alpha pokémon. Maybe? I just don't know why else there would be a hyphen there.

The hyphen usually symbolizes "connected to" or a sequence in a series at least in the Sciences so my guess is Zygarde connected to Arceus or Gen 6 Dex linked to Legend's Dex.

I was disappointed but the more I think about it the more I'm open to the Legends Z. why not. Really wanted Gen 2 but what can you do. we'll get it Maybe they're doing these legends games in chronological order rather than release order. I also think if it’s entirely set in the city, it’s going to be scaled to a point that we’ve never seen before… maybe a Central Park inspired area? And indoor greenhouse space similar to the terrarium? Maybe an expansive sewer system? Like yeah, I know we’re used to exploring different biomes but this isn’t a main series game, it’s a legends game. Perhaps the ‘ambitious’ elements are being used in a controlled environment for legends Z-A and then we’ll see it on a broader scale in the tail end of 2025? Either way, I think this is a sign Nintendo is telling us ‘we recognise there are concerns with the quality of our content so we will take the time to do better. We also want the fans to know we are listening regarding the features they love and that’s why we’re excited to announce megaevolution is returning’

2:00, we will likely get new forms. The general consensus is that Legends Arceus takes place between 100-200 years before DP/P/BDSP and legends had new forms. If you do a bit of research on google we have a real world parallel to for a renovation of Paris (which is what inspired Lumiose) called Haussmann's renovation of Paris which started in 1850's. If anything it takes place further back than legends Arceus.

From anything I can find Miare City is just what Lumiose City is called in Japanese version of X, Y, and I guess now Legends Z-A. A few people I have heard talk about this trailer have expressed concern over the size of the city!

for pokemon Z-A; if you look closely at the A design, it show a little hint of the new legendary may look like. and for when they show us the place in CGI as Pikachu was running and the place is only Lumiose City ground with battle that can be seen on the open area might mean players online can see and playing with eachother throughout the world. That mean they will have a lot more player you can play with. Also, when you look closely of the peoples in the game are mostly trainer that are player might interpret as you are going to play with more the 4 player as I believe that 60% of the population in this game might be players. We know how the “urban development” turns out(X/Y) but we don’t know how old Lumious/Miare City looks and that could possibly look like how old Jubilife Village did and there could be tall grass, lakes, caves, etc. all throughout and by the end of the game it turns out like the blueprints🤷🏻‍♂️

The same people complaint about the game releasing in 2025 are the same people complaining about the quality of the game. We should be happy that they are working on this project for extended time. I hope it does not come out until Summer of next year. I wouldn’t mind waiting for a really good game. We waited 6 years for TOTK and it was worth the wait. I’d rather wait an extra 2 years for a great game than 3 months for a buggy, unpolished, unfinished product.

I have a thought about Mega Evolutions. They should let Pokemon from Gen 5-9 use the power themselves. Not just that, but regional variants and unevolved Pokemon should be capable of it as well. For a few examples, the Kalos Starters, Dusk Form Lycanroc, Hisui Sneasel, Hisui Braviary, Sirfetch'd, Paldea Tauros, Dracovish, Cyclizar, Hisui Arcanine, Hisui Zoroark, Ceruledge, Talonflame, Krookodile, maybe even both Meowths from Alola and Galar. I'm not sure if they'll try doing the same thing to the Ultra Beasts or Paradox Pokemon, but it might be interesting if they did. That's my thought at least.
