Good gracious. Old story, but new to me. I got married in 1973 in Walvis Bay, visited Swakopmund too, but never read about this. Tragic. Imagine the children living with this knowledge or finding out. Hope they are fine

Lived in Swakop at the time still remember it well, happened in a house not far from main street. There was another murder that happened in the desert knew the murderer who lived in same street as us he killed tourist in the desert.

The fifth? We ain’t in america woman. For someone who purports to be an expert you should know that the 5 amendment of the American constitution does not apply to South Africa. But the right to remain silent is an almost universal legal right.

The case was in Namibia, don't know why you would bring SA into this... 🤷🏼 But to your point, I think 99.9% of people would have understood her use of the "the 5th" as world wide know, common term that someone is not answering any questions or speaking at all and not as legal term...
