I really appreciate the honesty and candor of his advice. Too many people would just say everything was awesome and hunkydorey and allow you to fall flat on your face. So refreshing to witness someone giving good, solid advice to help others. Great, insightful interview. Thank you both!

The loft thing would definitely be a drawback for me. I'm glad Tim was willing to chat about his decision-making process and his candor is appreciated!

I liked how he reconsidered the use case for keeping the loft. Storage over sleeping.

My place has an upstairs, though its upstairs so I dont go there much. I might remove half of it seeing as it's not structural.

Excellent video and interview. You asked thoughtful questions, and Tim's insightful responses are fair, straightforward and transparent. It's great getting information straight from an owner with several units and their take on the pros and cons. As a casual viewer, you both discuss safety/potential concerns and the need for insurance pertaining to the loft sleeping area, as well as highlight over the current limitations with transportation, etc.

I love how he said that it helps if you could test drive a tiny home build like you would buying a car. Try it out and figure out the kinks. ❤The interview

I have to agree with what he said that a downstairs bedroom is probably the best and use the loft for kids or just storage.

Kerry, this is an excellent video. I love how you make people comfortable and they respond to you genuinely. Hmmm maybe that's why I love watching your videos. Anyway, great video, great inside from a person that purchased 9 prefab homes and gets feedback from different types of people.

This was the best interview - dude was awesome with his insights - that I’ve seen you do… and that’s inclusive of how you included the different units that he was had. Great job, Kerry!

A very interesting interview. It’s nice to hear what the owner would do differently. I’ve never thought lofts were a good idea except as additional storage or for young children who would find it fun. I am looking forward to this year’s videos. Cheers!

Thank you Kerry for another great episode! I really liked Tim’s insights into these little dwellings..The point you both make and truly make’s sense is stay in one of these that is closest to one you want to purchase and live in..That loft Tim spoke of truly leaves rentals out for most seniors or those physically challenged..The idea of being sleepy and scrambling down a ladder from the loft sounds sketchy for those not used to this style of sleeping..I work on ships and sleeping in the upper bunk is appealing to me but when the sea’s get rough and needing to use the bathroom at 0200 can be challenging..Happy New Year and the best to your channel for 2025

Due to the restraints when shipping them, that is why I like the models that you show that are built in small segments. Then if you want to add an extra bedroom or two they can be attached later. I remember the one episode you showed of how many different configurations could be made with different segments.

I remember hearing that song Don't Look Back from the band Boston, and since then keep buying guitars. Kim Mitchell said might as well go for a soda, but he doesnt have Kerry's hair. When Kerry reaches Jay Leno's age, he will have his own neighborhood.

Definitely want a bedroom with dresser, night stand, and closet downstairs for full time living. Lofts sure are great for kids, but not so much for adults, particularly over 40-50 years of age. It’s also more difficult with one bathroom for 3-4 people to share.

It's easy to expand these units. Apparently, theres alot of space between the surface of the planet and it's core, and geothermal heating can be a selling feature for affordability, so digging down means it pays for itself in energy savings over time. Go on, build that 24 story basement feature, and you've got a place to park those 24 cars, pianos etc, Colin Firth would bring his own shovel.

They would look better with a wood fence hiding the air conditioner/heater. Not expensive to do. It could include a small roof to block rain and add more shade for it.
