Currently doing a little build with my E92 335i N55 too, it's black as well almost identical to Ethan's, just did hybrid turbo on it just needs to be tuned and dynod then will have some fun with it, lots of maintenance work done over the last few years.

I had a 2010 E82 135i N55 for about 2 years absolutely loved that car, it was not daily driven but I never had any issues with it whatsoever. I could be mistaken but it was the N54s that came with the ZF6 and the N55s came with the DCT as my 135i N55 also had the DCT box

A big thing to watch out for on the N55 is the valvetronic system. The eccentric shaft wears over time and seizes the valvetronic motor. I was quoted around R55,000 for parts + labor. Early symptom of the shaft seizing up is a rapid buzzing sound when you unlock the car (that is the motor trying to move the seized shaft). The motor is not easily accessible and therefore very expensive to replace.

Nice idea and sure we all want to know. Well done for setting all that up. Tell owner not too raise it too much definitely the back but front is ok. Quad pipes look ok seeing that he didnt fit it

I had E92 335i N54. What a rocket but when you check fuel tank you must fill up again. When injectors and turbos go. You will shh let me tell you. But still miss it even though it killed me financially.

Pls protect your ecu e90 ,e91,e92 etc it prone for ecu water damage I own an e90 it's a headache
