Hey guys! Check it. In front of us today is one of the most unique tribute vehicles we've ever featured on the channel, a replica Nissan Skyline R34 GTR based off Brian O'Connor's hero car in the first race scene of 2 Fast 2 Furious! What started in 2001 as an action movie documenting LA's illegal street racing scene has now turned into a cultural phenomenon within the automotive community. What better way could there be to carry on the spirit of the original trilogy than a replica of one of Brian's most iconic vehicles? This project began life as a bone stock Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T with an RB25DET under the hood and just your standard 90s Nissan seats up front. As it stands now the car is just about complete and accurate to the movie car, minus a few vinyl graphics that will be installed once it arrives in Alberta. Enjoy!

I honestly think that Craig's R34 looks better in the paint scheme he had it in before it was painted for the movie. So the story goes, and this comes from Craig Lieberman guest-starring on The Smoking Tire Podcast "Episode labeled Fast but not so Furious" That when he bought the R34. It was originally Jet-Black with a Sky Rally Body Kit, and it was dubbed 'The Blackbird" as an Omage to the "Blackbird Porsche" from Wangan Midnight, as well as naming it after the black Russian Spy Planes during the Cold War. But whatever, so he buys "The Blackbird" for $78,000 USD back in 2000 *Which means he basically paid $119,100USD in 2020, so that's roughly $162,000 CAD in 2020. Then he paints it Blue with the red stripe along the body line, which had everyone screaming in outrage "He's modifying the car he's ruining the originality of it." But he had a plan. He knew Universal was going to be looking for cars to be auditioned for 2F2F. Originally Paul Walker was going to drive DODGE NEON SRT4 *YUCK* so that's why he modified the Blackbird because he wanted to show Universal what the R34 was capable of.

You need the rb26 motor with mods from hks. The twin turbo becomes a single turbo. And the turbo you need is the HKS T04Z, front pipe, any muffler. It’s a 10k mod for the movie sound.

I am a huge fan of cars, and tuner caars, I love all, German, JDM, Italian supercars, I love them all, and about the mlovies, I think I saw most on TV, talking about the later ones, but the first series were definitely the era with the neon lights, wiith the Nos, with all that, much of which we call Ricer style today even. I love it. Even the Pimp My Ride did their cars in this style, and I was never a fan of their projects, but I do respect them.

just one info, "this is RWD, its not AWD like GTR", the skyline GTR R34 is RWD but it has technology to spend some traction from the rear and transfer to the front, thats what makes us think it is AWD, but what a nice video, wonderful takes from the car, seeing this makes me think about do some replicas too, i literally forget about that idea that fast furious customization is "outdated"
