Fun fact about base attack times. Just because a hero has lower bat, doesn't mean it will benefit more from an attack speed item. TC (bat 2.05) at any level with base stats get more attack speed from a gloves of haste, than Blademaster (bat 1.77). That is because the AS items are additive in the attack speed calculation, so an already high agility(therefore high AS) hero gets less AS from the gloves, so much less, that even though they have lower bat time, they can get less attack speed increase in the end. (ofc blade master crit still makes it more DPS increase, but without items and skills, TC would get more from gloves)

When this game first came out, the night elves were hugely imba vs other races, especially the hippo riders. Mass hippo riders with PoTM leveling up trueshot (oddly, just like Grubby mentioned at the beginning) was the way to go.

When I was a kid I just loved the night elves and hippogryph riders were my favourite units. NGL I played basically every NE game with this strat and NE was my top winrate race by a mile. I think it has a lot to do with archer+talon being strong at the time, so when the wind came out they probably assumed that's what I was doing and never made enough AA

I love this video, I used to play weird styles on ladder back in the old days. And seeing people get upset about you not playing meta is beautiful, I hate the definition of "Meta", it always ruins games to the casual player, NOT the pro players, not the top of the ladder players, they will usually not allow a meta to define if they spot something they believe they can use as an advantage. I've seen it over and over, across multiple games, Counter Strike, the first one to discover the new meta gun was called crazy, the first one to try out a weak hero/champion in a moba "You are griefing" only until they actually hard carried the game and made the person complaining look like an idiot, it has been done to death by now. Thank you Grubby, I can no longer enjoy this game, I used to love it as much as you do, but Blizzard literally took that from me with their change to WarCraft 3, everything they did ruined the joy and community that we the fans had build for so many years, while Blizzard only ever went in and made changes that ruined the experience time and time again. WC3 used to be, bar none, my favourite game of all time. Today, due to Blizzard, I can't even put it in my top 50, it's just that different in feel and enjoyment for me today.

If POTM existed in DOTA with the skills that she has in WC3 she would be OP. Namely searing arrow and scout owl. Its the low attack speed that makes noobs un successful in playing her but a pro should know that kiting with good turn rate and speedy units like hunts or hipo riders can ruin most armies and melle heroes. + the unlimited vission of scout owl. + the fact that adding Keeper lvl 1 entangle on T2 to a kite and focus army forces them to research dispell. In the same time casters are extremely weak vs hypo ryders fly by, specially if ambushed thx to scout owl. Going air vs this army is out of the question, and T3 adds immense value with marksmanship, add a single bear for mass roar that costs less than 500 but adds 25% dmg not only to army but heroes and i dont get what else you can ask for. If Orc made wyverns work on top meta its ridiculous that NE cant make POTM work. They have everything they need.
