Okay to address some of the comments about the doxing. In the Vtuber space any real life photos of Vtubers is considered a dox because of how dangerous it is. Even if they had a prior time as a rl streamer. This is especially true for Corporate Vtubers because they have a wider audience and they have to separate from their other online personas cause they can lose their job if they don’t. Recently we had some Vtubers do some live performances and because of that she was followed home. That is how bad parasocial the space is. The trolling is also a big problem as well. It’s a reason ppl keep saying “kick the hornet’s nest” because the way he went about it brought out more racist than it needed to be. He’s was just stirring the pot in the way that would harm black vts in the long run. The only other problem I have is that to my knowledge most of the vtubers he used as examples had already apologized and been better. Hell a lot of them I’ve seen calling out racist or if they get some work from someone racist, they would fire them and stop using their work. That’s all I got to say, stay safe y’all.

“The way he went about it brought out more racists than it needed to be” doesn’t sound right to me. I think the bigger issue with racism isn't if it exists in the vtuber community or not, but how much of it is accepted with little to no consequences. I'm not saying just because someone says the N word or parrots a word in another language that sounds similar to it when they hear the N word in a game or song that they need to be shot on the spot, instead they should be educated and that responsibility is on their fans and fellow vtubers, because more than likely these vtubers are likely ignorant to the context and the history of the word if their origin is from a country that doesn't teach these kind of things in school, which is where most people learn the history.

The problem with parasocial interactions is people take it too far. There is a such thing as an unhealthy parasocial relationship. At the end of the day you can like and support them, but the moment you think they are your actual gf or some close family friend that you know PERSONALLY, that's when it becomes a problem and needs to be checked. I think both Omni and Shizzy have truthful points, but there's a way to go about it rather than bringing in more hate. awful Vtubers and content creators should be held responsible for their literal crimes, I feel there are better means to bringing attention to that then bringing aggression towards a community with general criticism and rather focusing on what matters and how to construct a better space for others in the Vtuber community. give P.O.C Vtubers more access to better assets respectable and suited for them along with recognition (hell, support idie Vtubers in that case since that's where you'll find more diverse crowds and actual people), Ban and exile PDFs permanently from the Vtubing space, establish healthier forms of boundaries and communications between streamers and chat (definitely the hardest one since the internet has a tendency to not listen more often than not, rather than fix the problem at hand. that or leading to a completely different subject to argue about which has no effect on the bigger problems. it's immediate ad hominem if you're not focusing enough on specific individuals being awful or having an unhealthy chat or not taking in the bigger picture of the situation where not all things apply to a generalized comminity.)

I do agree that the things he said in the video was true but I also understand that the complaints he face are for the most part unavoidable due to presentation. -Saying it's the entire vtuber community (except like a few at the end) is generalizing and drags in people that didn't do anything. -His extreme aggression will be met with extreme aggression and he obviously knew it would so I think it's funny that he is saying it's going too far when that's what he wanted. -The mistakes that he fixed were egregious (and can be argued to be racist with the Japanese VTubers) possibly affecting them for no reason. -I bet he makes racist jokes himself against other races freely so it can be seen as hypocritical with his hatred of black jokes (the George Floyd joke was tame let's be honest here). -His two first apologies only angered more people while bringing up stuff that just doesn't work (Really old Demondice album while stretching to call something racist). -Finally, he never actually apologized, he practically said woops and fixed it like it never happened without actually holding himself accountable. Which is even more hypocritical. My biggest problem is the fact that most of what he said is true, but it's true to every community and acting like it's pretty much vtuber exclusive only makes it worse. Way less backlash would have happened if he was not insulting anyone who disagreed/questioned him every 30 seconds and those mistakes never existed (especially with such a serious topic.) EDIT: To clarify the second to last statement (I'm surprised how many people actually read this), I'm not saying you shouldn't talk about it at all. I'm saying you shouldn't act like the problems that exist generally everywhere makes it a major issue in the vtuber community. It become major issues when we go past the obvious problems that are everywhere, examples being youtube and CoryXKenshins video. With how general the problems are, it's hard to be like this is a problem that threatens the lives of every black person that walks into the space without getting a fake ID and fingerprint removals. Am I losing my mind or something? The topic of his video was "Everything wrong with Vtubers" The parts about race and racism had a small section in it in and was only called into question, when he used out of context clips Vtubers saying Japanese and Chinese words that sounded like the N word. He later admitted that was wrong, the other outrage came from him soft doxxing other vtubers. Had he not done that or atleast spoke about it in the correct manner i'd wager he would have much backlash. I'm black(i'll post a vid to prove it lol) and even I know he was tripping. Sure you don't have to like or even agree with them using the N word,dont but again your POINT will ALWAYS be lost if you GO ABOUT IT WRONG. Also Pulling the race card when you were called out for using out of context cliips and splicing together clips that made predominantely non english speaking vtubers look racist is wild, and well kinda racist just saying. 🤷 He admitted he thought it was funny and admitted it was wrong, so dont call me a liar and act like it didn't happen. TLDR; This only became a "black people" issue because he couldn't apologzie for his mistakes and which was the out of context clips and the soft doxxing. Now that I've seen the video. I agree with Omni that his complaints about Vtubers are the same everywhere. Because it's adjacent to the anime fanbase it'll share issues. Because they are still streamers, of course it'll have the same issues. There was nothing wrong with what Shizzy was calling out. However, he seemed more than happy to kick the hornet's nest. Did he deserve what he's getting? Probably not, but what the fuck did he expect? Forget vtubing, how has he been a content creator for so long and not know most of these places are like? Also, why is it always Mori Calliope catching these strays?
@Sasukeluvzme138 ай бұрын
So just because the complaints are the same, doesn’t mean he shouldn’t talk about them? Just seems like a lot of people trying to downplay the facts in this video to help sustain the reputation of your favorites in your head because if you really believed what he was saying to be true, you’d have to reevaluate your own morals. Mori caught stays because she thinks she has to be “male, black, or hood enough” to be in a rap space… amongst other things… It scares me we aren’t as accepting as we wanna act a lot of times about people who look different.

@@Sasukeluvzme13 Shizzy has the right to voice his complaints and how he wants to do it. I don't think it's wrong to do so. I even think that even if the video was more serious he would still be unfortunately harrassed so much. I don't downplay the issues myself, but seeing people do it is usually because they saw or heard second-hand small snippets of the video and took Shizzy's jokes as an attack on their character as vtuber fans. I'm an anime fan first, so I've already made peace with the fact that I enjoy a hobby made for and by Japanese audiences first.

He didn’t portray his point in a proper light and whether it be intentionally or not he absolutely made the video in a way that demonizes just the vtuber community for things that exist in quite literally every community -_-. His video came in like he wanted to just stir the pot, talk shit and get attention fo himself while using an issue that can be considered a genuine issue within the community. As a black vtuber myself who doesn't know him, he just made himself look like a snake who doesn't care who he pisses off or whatever to get attention for himself and then when he gets the smoke he ordered keeps stirring the pot and acting like he isn't playing a part of it.

I got two things to say. 1. I watch a lot of blsck youtubers and commentator and it's true they do use meme editing and it ain't a problem most of the time. In Shizzy case the thing is that sometimes he uses the meme editing really well and it's pretty funny but other times it disrupts the follow of the video as you have to sit and watch a 3-10 second clip from a meme when your tryna listen to what shizzy has to say. I feel like a good example of black commentators that do meme editing well are people like kneecaps, cj dachamp and tommynfg. They meme edit but the meme it's self is silent and their commentary is still being played over the meme that is being shown. It's consistent and the flow of the video isn't lost. And even if they make the viewer watch a full meme clip, it's probably once or twice maybe three times. But in shizzy case his video filled with it and it slows down or disrupt the flow of his commentary 2. I think omni was mostly joking about the whole him being jealous. Omni was just poking fun at his commentary and stated he himself has a deep enough voice to do asmr and called him jealous whilst being playful about it

And then theres the whole part about sex appeal and playing a character both of which are not nearly as common as he claims it to be. Its just blatantly false. Look up the most popular vtubers and just think, how many of them are seriously playing a character or seriously leaning into sex appeal. Theres some, but its not like theres a disproportionate amount when compared to regular streamers. Most of them are just people wearing skinsuits who act just like any other streamer.

Here’s the truth. Yes most of this can be applied to the internet generally. But it also applies to the vtuber community. And that’s the community he’s apart of. Wanting your community to be less racist and trying to make it better by calling it out is just good practice. Another thing on the Ame thing. I want to say this has me confused but honestly I think I get it. First off, the Ame N word discourse happened like 3 years ago and was VERY public. Like the video of her saying even back then had STUPID amounts of views, and we all kind of just decided personally how we each felt. So what I really think got people mad is, They didn’t know about the clip and are mad they got exposed to it, Or they’ve seen the clip and are mad it’s being brought back up So personal bias here, I’m black, and I also like Ame and watch her on and off casually. That being said, he didn’t dox her, and I think bringing her up in this context is totally valid. Even so he still took it out, which he honestly did not have to do.
