I can only speak from a US perspective. The only way that word can be in a non-Black person’s mouth is if they grew up in the culture and demonstrated the appropriate usage and respect for AAVE the people who created it .Every friendship and relationship is going to vary but that’s something the non-Black person needs to navigate mindfully and communicate openly about, allowing the Black partner to lead that conversation.
