Finland, if it exists, is around 7600 KM from the US by air, so my man nearly drove the entire distance while constantly dying, rebuilding his engine, and going to prison.

The car he got wasn't a Datsun / Nissan Cherry, it was an Opel Kadett. Closer to what Jani (yellow car with stripes) drives in the game, but finding a Datsun / Nissan of that model and year in running condition or for a remotely sane price is nearly next to impossible. They were kind of shit box cars in real life not just on the game

Not only that. But ever since My Summer Car got popular. More and more people started buying and hoarding the FEW that were left in running condition and most of them weren't willing to "sell" them to Mart.. It's also worth noting that he had to find one that was available IN FINLAND, so that likely also made it harder..

So, i just finished watching his video before coming here. I had actually went thru and watched ALL of his 6500km drive streams starting with the first 24hour one. as someone pointed out, the final bit played differently on stream. it cuts to the live action stuff like you see, then he drives the last km in real time to the shop (with a brief stop to get offered money by some random people to turn left before he shoots them lol). the stream ends with the trunk bit and him saying "fu-". then just a black screen saying thank you and the total raised for charity, which was over 30k USD. ngl, it was such a perfectly done bit that it actually made me cry. and yeah. alot of crazy things happened. so many crashes, so many engine rebuilds. the final 60kms was INSANE with everyone trying to kill him with donations. interesting to see his final video and the narrative constructed. some of the stuff was planned, some clearly wasn't, like the house, lol. it all actually got me to try out the game, and even taught me some tips and stuff about it. was a great experience.

My Summer Car has a few places based on actual places in Finland (Teimo's store is probably the biggest example, however it has not been too well kept.) And they got the car from another MSC enthusiast.

I beg of you, make a playlist for all the new channels we've been watching so far. Degenerocity, Grim Kleaper, Reggie, Shoe and so on. I enjoy putting a playlist on loop but, without that, I still have to open every single video, it makes a bunch of tabs and it's messy because I'm a dum dum.
