I wasn't feeling good and Steven decided to cook AND film while I was sick! Dinner was so easy and so good. I was so blessed by his kindness. :) I hope y'all enjoy!

3:36 Lemon Garlic Rosemary Rice www.theroastedroot.net/lemon-...
10:35 Chili Cheeseburger Sliders
14:11 Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries
19:10 Subbie Sweet Intro Sheila
20:37 Strawberry Angel Food Cake
Steven's chili recipe:
1 lb ground beef (needs to have some fat in it!)
Salt and Pepper, to taste
1.5-2 tsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp chili powder
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, optional
1/2 tsp cumin
1 jalapeno, diced (optional)
1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
Brown ground beef in large skillet over med-hi heat. Drain if you'd like (Steven didn't). Add all seasonings, jalapeno, and tomato sauce. Cover and turn the heat to med-low to simmer for at least 10-15 minutes. Serve using a slotted spoon (especially if you didn't drain the excess grease off).
SUBBIE SWEET FROM SHEILA
STRAWBERRY ANGEL FOOD CAKE
1 Angel food cake (store bought or homemade, cooled)
1 (21 oz) can strawberry pie filling
1 (8 oz) container whipped topping, thawed
8 oz block cream cheese, softened
1 cup powdered sugar
1 qt fresh strawberries, sliced
Tear cake into bite sized pieces and place in the bottom of 9x13 pan. Put sliced strawberries in medium bowl (add a little sugar to them if you'd like) and add strawberry pie filling. Mix well and spread evenly over the angel food cake layer. In a small bowl, beat cream cheese until creamy. Add powdered sugar to cream cheese and beat again until mixed well. Put cream cheese mixture on top of strawberry layer. Lastly, top with whipped topping, cover and put in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

I used to be married to a man whose greatest compliment to my cooking was, "Nothing wrong with it." Note the key phrase there is 'used to be.' Steven, it makes me want to cry every time I hear you compliment Mandy's cooking, every WOW you come up with, and explain how every ingredient adds to the good flavor.

*For the color on the rice. Larger bottomed pot so the rice is spread out more (just like browning meat don't want to crowd the pan so much) then slightly higher heat will result in getting a nice light brown toasty rice. That will make it slightly nutty in taste. But you are achieving the goal of coating it in the oil to make it cook up in individual grains. ❤

As soon as I saw the Strawberry dessert I knew this was something my family would love. I immediately bought everything for a weekend dessert. I made it tonight and I had barely sat down with my dessert and my 6 year old daughter had already finished her serving. When I handed it to her she said "Mom, this looks so good!". Then I could hear her tell her dad how yummy it was. Made me so happy to hear. She isn't always so complementary lol. It was quick, easy, and yummy. Thank you!

Rosemary is a bush. Look in that section of the garden shop for a small one. You won't find it in seed form. I've had one for 10 years now. Bought it as a tiny 5" plant, and have had to prune it regularly because it is now over 5ft tall. It survives the winters in the ground in my area of South Alabama. You might want to plant it in a pot. That will control its size and allow it to come inside during your winters. Bless you both!

Mandy, the dryer the food item, the quicker and easier it is to brown. increase the heat heat. or use a wider pan. moisture is the antithesis of browning, esp when onions are sweating, which means more moisture is releasing.

Hey Mandy & Steven I watch your content often! Those corn tortillas, you can heat oil of your choosing I use vegetable oil. Pass the corn tortillas through the grease maybe 3to 5 seconds, the grease has to be hot. Then place on paper towels & I pat to get grease excess off. That’s the real way I was taught, my mom was Mexican descent God rest her soul. A lot of work but we’ll worth it. It’s keeps them from tearing as much and quite frankly they are delicious. Anything that’s not healthy is much better lol😂

I was married once long ago. Had outpatient abdominal hernia repair and my husband made dinner for me that night. I was served a plate with a chunk of lasagna, some frozen hash browns and frozen peas. All nuked together on the plate, no seasoning. Not even butter! The peas were hard green BB*s, lasagna was still frozen in the middle and the potatoes were done... that's the best that can be said about them. So happy Common Tater takes better care of his Sweet Pea! Blessings to you both.
