His live concerts are unbelievable‼️. Loved your sheer joy and excitement in watching this incredibly talented man. Michael said he first saw the moonwalk done by kids in the street. He transformed and mainstreamed the moonwalk and no one does it better. "Another part of me" live from Wembley 1988! Fantastic!

The special shoes Michael used to do the lean in Smooth Criminal were ones he made himself AND he actually holds the patent on them. They have a hole in the heel and a steel rod and he and the dancers have to be in a special place on the stage so a hook can come up from the floor and hook it at the right time so they can lean. He was a real genius.

My opinion is that MJ is the greatest.Really already a star as a very young child. MJ could dance and sing so well.He never stopped.MJ got better and better giving us more with each new album/project.Next thing we knew he was dancing on air(the moon walk)He gave the planet something extraordinary up to his passing.RIP MJ!!Just to name a few that I personally find great at dancing or both singing and dancing, includes: James Brown ,Jene Kelley, Fred Astaire, Sammy Davis jr and Michael brushnikov ,he is famous for ballet.Others are:Shirley Temple, Ginger Rogers,Gregory Hines,Patrick Swayze, and Channing Tatum.Dont ya'll just 💛dancing.✌

Michael's dance influence came from, James Brown, he also studied the greats from Earlier generations. Gene Kelly, Michael thought was the best dancer ever, also he studied the great Fred Astaire. You should watch clips of both of them. You'll understand why Jackson thought they were the best. Michael took the knowledge and ran with it, RIP

Michael Jackson was the best dancer of his time for sure. It was a live concert but Micheal did have the soundtrack playing as well. You could see him not singing when the soundtrack was running. But who on earth could sing and dance like that at the same time. You should look at some of the dance classes on KZbin like Kyle Hanagami, there doing dancing so differently these days and it’s really amazing. Thank you so much for sharing xxx

It's not a question for me, Micheal is the best. Period. And, the most original. Sure there are a small handful of things he was slightly "influenced" by but, a good 95% of the choreography he ever came up with, especially, as a solo artist was ALL his own.... That doesnt mean you shouldn't check out a few throwback Jackson 5 performances, tho because, even then he dominated the stage. 🤗 I'll leave a couple links to check out below .....

Dancer and singer Jeffrey Daniel was a member of the R&B group Shalamar and pioneered the dance move the backslide - which, after he taught it to Michael Jackson, became known as the moonwalk....but he put his spin on it & Michael's version of the moonwalk had more arm motion; when performing it, he usually swung his arms back and forth as the opposite leg slid backward. He also often popped his head back and forth and hunched up his shoulders as he moonwalked. Both additions make the illusion of walking more convincing....so yeah..he never said he created it..only thing he ever patented & was that lean n the shoes but both he DID create ...However, Michael Jackson does hold a patent. Awarded jointly to him and to two of his costume-men in 1993, the patent described specially designed shoes that gave the illusion of his leaning beyond his center of gravity. The move and the associated gadget were created for his 1988 music video, Smooth Criminal....love how ppl aka haters like to be in comment sections like "he didnt this" 😏 or "she didnt that" most the time dont even j o wtf they talkin bout 🤣

No ones knows for sure who originally created the moonwalk, but there are videos on KZbin showing Bill Bailey performing the step in his dance moves during his performance at the Apollo in NY back in 1955. There are other claims that attribute the step to Cab Calloway an African American singer and band leader from the 1930’s.

Bill Bailey (brother of actress/singer Pearl Bailey) was the first person to do the moonwalk on screen in the 1940s. Back then it was called the backslide. Jeffrey Daniels from the music group Shalamar taught MJ the moonwalk. FYI, Munich is pronounced Mew-nick.

Let's all remember, MJ's biggest influence growing up and learning to dance was James Brown. James Brown came first, and because of him, we have.. 1. MJ 2. Prince 3. M.C. Hammer 4. Usher and many, many more in the Music Industry. Even Mick Jagger was obsessed with James ❤️. I can spot Mr. Brown's dance moves literally everywhere in music videos and choreographed dances in Hollywood to this day. And..Fred Astaire, along with Gene Kelly, came before them. ❤️

Michael was the best modern pop artist and dancer of his day. Fred Estaire, Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor were outstanding dancers. Many others. Sammy Davis Jr., Gregory Heinz, etc...
