I remember I discovered MHA when I was so down with my studies and totally depressive, I will always remember for the rest of my life that I cried my balls out when All Might told Deku he can be a hero. So, I took courage again, held on and I am graduated and work for 4 years now!

This is such a great show 💖 It is a small character detail, but I do find it interesting that Bakugo was NOT happy to receive praise from the pro heroes, because he hadn't earned it. I feel like most arrogant bully characters would have basked in that praise, and rubbed the protagonist's face in it. It's the little things that make the characters in this show seem so fleshed out and unique, despite being very archetypal.

⬆️ It might be weird, but by the end of this episode (maybe starting when he turns down delinquent stuff bc he doesn't wanna mess up his grades/have it be on his record) I was actually fine with him- though I don't see that often Oh-at the time, seeing the way he reacts to praise looks like a pretty big detail / Scene focus, doesn't it ? Or maybe it's a smell detail if someone sees I turns voice and Katsuki's glare as...idk I agree with the other parts, though!

@@jasmine9581 yeah, he was already my favorite character by the end of this episode, but I have a bad habit of picking favorites based off of their narrative potential over what they've actually done, and the author was clearly hinting at something special with him, so I was pretty instantly invested in finding out what that would be! Even his dialogue in episode 1, while incredibly harsh and meanspirited, also has logic behind it. Deku hasn't outwardly done ANYTHING to train or prepare for UA, and is incapable of standing up to Bakugo beyond stammering about hopes and dreams... it makes sense for Bakugo to be annoyed at and scared for the quirkless kid who isn't putting in the effort to find practical ways to survive UA

In his own way he was training, but he was so bullied and beat down that training his physical body probably never even occurred to him because that's not something he even thought himself capable of. Otherwise I completely agree, and from Bakugo's perspective you are correct.

A Quirk can really be any enhancement to a regular person. Mental, physical, etc. And some can be so situational and specific there's a possibility you could go for years without figuring out you have one.

@@haveaniceday3952 he definitely isn’t the worst character. I will say, in the beginning at least, he is a horrible person with little to no redeeming qualities. One could say that he is merely a victim of his circumstance and surroundings. However, this does not excuse his behavior and I disagree with people who try to frame him as a wholly good person that did nothing wrong and is the soul victim because his actions where, no matter what, horrendous. Where I disagree with your stance is when you say that he is a bad “character”. Bakugo’s character is one of the most interesting and thought provoking ones in the series. By the time that Almighty retires and Bakugo challenges Deku to fight we have only seen very few instances of any character development for Bakugo. If Horikoshi had keep his character like this for the rest of the series, or even a few more seasons, I might admit that his character was bad, however, there is a massive breakthrough with Bakugo’s character when he breaks down in front of Deku before their fight. This moment and others down the line, including him finally apologizing to Deku, cements him as one of the most interesting characters due to his moral ambiguity and realism. You can think that Bakugo is a bad “person” all you want but Bakugo is subjectively and objectively a great “character”.

Idk how to ask without being kinda spoilery For me it was right before 1x2's halfway poking, and then the rest happened, and his "I don't owe you anything" speech is when I probably said out loud that he's okay with me I know the time it takes varies among a lot of us Katsuki fans, so I wanted to ask (And i bet subconsciously I wanted to tell someone about the 1x2 thing bc I don't see (max 3 commenters) that early, though one reactor kinda understood him immediately

see deku saw bakugou and went to help him not caring hes been bullied for years by him, and thats what bakugou hates sm abt deku, thinkin he was lookin down on him, when in reality deku was just a good person and still cared for bakugou... bakugou was def the person i hated most at the start,, now i have sm stuff based around him,, like his development is slow and his anger never really goes away bc thats just who he is, but maaan do i love that guy

I think the English dub of these episodes might be better than the Japanese. The Japanese subtitles are a bit overly-formal/awkward in some places. But yeah, these episodes are great either way, they make me bawl every time ha.

really bummed ya'll arent watching this one in dub, but it's ok. maybe you could go back off camera and watch the episodes you've already seen in dub if you want to because the dub really stole the show. it's funny and the voices all match the characters a lot better (imho) so hope you check it out! ps. i cant wait until they see bakugous character development in the later seasons, he's my fave for a reason
