Dylan had grown his hair out during lockdown and didn't know he had curly/wavy hair. He wanted his first haircut specifically for his curly hair. Dan gave him a skin fade and cut shape into curly/wavy hair for this haircut.

Spends 4 and half minutes talking before touching the clients hair. Would love to see more barbers like this throughout the UK. Brilliant

If only we had the time, sadly most are walk in and you have not a lot of time to consult the client :( not nearly as much as we would like anyway. Dan is absolutely fantastic tho just to be clear.

thats nice but in reality hes doing this because of the video, most barbers have 30 min or less for a haircut and you cant exactly spend 10 minutes of it on the consultation/shampoo

Only people who get a haircut once a full moon expect this type of consultation and still won’t tip or willing to pay for the time. These people are taking advantage of the barber sadly. Almost all these videos the guy is getting a cut once every few months not even monthly

@@jonathansampedro8989 How do you know they are taking advantage of the barber? If anything the barber is taking advantage of the customer by using his hair for the video to make money from the YT channel. I always tip my barber, and I'm certain many here watching do aswell.

I'm usually very sceptical when barbers promise you the 'perfect' haircut, and most barber videos end up with a pretty underwhelming result. But idk, this guys just always nails it. This cut looks very clean and it really suits the client very well. You're a true professional!

I totally feel that dude. I always had short hair and thought I had straight hair. I was always curious my hair would look if I let it grow long and the 2020 quarantine was the perfect opportunity to try it out. Turned out I had curly-ish hair. The first 2 months everything looked normal. 3 months in, my hair was starting to fight my comb and had a weird wavy look to it. 4 months in, I have this dudes curls lol.

My brother has crazy thick curly hair (exactly the same as the model in this video) and he always asks me to cut it for him. I recently graduated hair school but his hair is so much harder to cut than the basic men's cuts I was taught. I've been trying to KZbin but couldn't find anything useful until I came across your video. Thank you so much for putting your knowledge out there! Super detailed and easy to follow. Amazing content!

The cut is really nice, well done 👏 I have a client that has similar hair and the last time he wanted to switch from a skin fade (that he usually does) for a number 1.5 fade and then I did a skin taper, it was looking so good. The contrast was crazy and the lineup behind the ears just brings this cut to a another level. I cut the top pretty much the same way. I would love to see your version of "my cut" the next time you have a client with this kind of hair!

I always use the same technique as you when it comes to connecting the top to the sides by taking vertical sections and using the bulk you left on the side for a guide but when it comes to curly hair it doesn't work well for me I feel like when the hair dries it curls and becomes shorter and the connection doesn't look as smooth any tips? Also, I'm a barber student and I've learned so much from your channel thank you for proving everyone with free quality education
@kalbekanani2279
@kalbekanani2279 3 жыл бұрын
I think your problem can come from the sectioning, the thing is when you are connecting wavy hair, dont try to make it as straight as you would do on straight hair but angle your fingers a bit on the outside if you see what a I mean. That was really a game changer for me. The second thing is maybe your clipper work was a bit too high so when you wanted to connect this part to the top, you already are cutting hair that should not be cut. It is also a reason why I always do lower fades on that type of hair so I have enough space to work and blend. You should also see if there is no problem with the initial sectioning of the hair (when you separate the hair on the side from the top). Maybe it was too high. Hope that helps and hope that Dan can give his expert opinion too

Cutting the fringe just a tad shorter and shaping it with your scissors would have been nice. Cutting the hair round at the front connection rather than a 90 degree angle would have worked. Basically so that the the curls would of sat on top of the fringe and would have looked really full. Hope that makes sense 😅

One thing I learned is to know the shape of your head. So when looking for haircuts/styles you know roughly what works for you. Because if you like a haircut it doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll work for you since it doesn’t go well for you head shape. I went through many haircuts thinking they look good then on me it looked weird. Till I found out what haircuts work best for my head shape
