It's a good long-term move. This only adds to an already decent defensive core, especially Sanheim and York (who continues to impress with his play). And we still have some good talent coming up the pipeline, like Matvei Michkov, - this guy's a BEAST! Yes, we're a demanding fanbase, but I feel we're fair (most of the time). My guess is that Cutter is going to regret this decision.

The short explanation is that if the player plays 4 years for a NCAA college, they are basically a UFA and they don’t have to sign a ELC. They didn’t know Gauthier was going to do this but he did and that’s how this came about. Basically the kid is a UFA now and can sign wherever Edit: Think of the Jimmy Vesey or Adam Fox debacles, it’s the same thing.

You got a coach who doesn't respect the players and treats them like cattle, so you know there'll be players who won't want to play for him (some obviously before they even get there). Eventually what good he can bring to the team in terms of results will dissipate into a mutiny when his antics and personality gets unbearable, like it has with every team he's coached. I'm surprised that the Flyers and fans are surprised that's it's already starting to show. Just stick around folks, it gets even better. I give it 1/2 to 2 more seasons. That's when the Flyers will be good, when the bully leaves the locker room, the dread and weight has been lifted, and hockey is fun to play again.
