ഹൊഗെനക്കൽ കൊട്ടവഞ്ചി യാത്രയും, വിശേഷങ്ങളും | Hogenakkal Waterfalls | Waterfall in Nizhal movie

Hogenakkal is one of the most beautiful places situated in Tamil Nadu on the Kaveri river in the Dharmapuri District. Hogenakkal waterfalls is the main attraction here and it is often referred to as the Niagra falls of India. This waterfall has been shooting location for many malayalam movies like Naran and the recently released movie Nizhal.
Just 150 km away from Bangalore you can experience a Coracle ride and an amazing view of hills and rivers. The road to hogenakkal is very smooth and enjoyable as the scenic beauty is mesmerizing. The coracle ride is of the major attraction in this place but please check if it is open because at some time the government closes the coracle ride because of high current in the water and it could be for months. But don’t get disappointed as the locals will take you near the falls from a different route which is worth the trip. They will charge around Rs 750 per ride and can accommodate 3 to 4 people (Now it's restricted to three due to the Covid restrictions). ബാംഗ്ലൂരില്‍ നിന്ന് 150 കിലോമീറ്റര്‍ അകലെ തമിഴ്നാട്ടിലെ ധര്‍മ്മാപുരി ജില്ലയിലാണ് ഹൊഗെനക്കല്‍ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം. ഇന്ത്യയിലെ നയാഗ്ര എന്നാണ് ഹൊഗെനക്കല്‍ അറിയപ്പെടുന്നത്. ഔഷധഗുണമുള്ള ജലവും, ബോട്ട് യാത്രയും ഏറെ പ്രസിദ്ധമാണ്. ഇവിടെ കാണുന്ന കാര്‍ബണ്‍ അടങ്ങിയ പാറകള്‍ സൗത്ത് ഏഷ്യയിലെ എന്നല്ല ലോകത്തെ തന്നെ ഏറ്റവും പഴക്കം ചെന്നവയാണ്. വേനല്‍ക്കാലത്ത് വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടത്തിന് ശക്തി കുറയും. വട്ടത്തോണിയില്‍ കാവേരി നദിയിലൂടെ യാത്ര ചെയ്യാനും, പിടിച്ച ഉടനേതന്നെ മീനുകളെ വാങ്ങാനും ഇവിടെ സാധിക്കും. മിനറല്‍ വാട്ടറും, ലഘുഭക്ഷണങ്ങള്‍ വില്ക്കുന്നവരും ഇവിടെയുണ്ട്. നദീതിരത്ത് തന്നെയുള്ള ഭക്ഷണശാലകളില്‍ ഫ്രഷായി ലഭിച്ച മീനിനെ പാകം ചെയ്ത് നല്‍കും.
തമിഴ്നാട്-കർണാടക സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളുടെ അതിർത്തിയിൽ കാവേരി നദിയിലാണ് ഈ വെളളച്ചാട്ടം. സത്യമംഗലം കാടുകളുടെ ഇടയിൽ മുപ്പത്താറ് വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടങ്ങൾ അടുത്തടുത്ത് കാണാം. വട്ടവഞ്ചിയിലൂടെയുള്ള ഇവിടത്തെ ജലയാത്രയാണ് ഏറ്റവും കൌതുകകരം. ഭാരം കുറഞ്ഞ ഈ മുളം തോണി വട്ടം കറക്കിയാലും കൂട്ടിയിടിച്ചാലും പ്രശ്നമില്ല.

We went yesterday.. Called Chennappan Annan and he was good in assisting us.. Since the water level was high the boad ride was too less (coracle ride was used to just to cross a small section of the river) and we felt for this 750/- rupees charged by the waterfall management was a bit on high side..(also considering the additional amount paid to the coracle rider for his services.)
