I was just like the young man smoking a cigarette. I would leave some bar as the sun was coming up and a street preacher would be out proclaiming the Gospel and handing out tracts. I would literally RUN as fast as my intoxicated body would let me! Hearing the Gospel put a spotlight on my sin and I HATED IT. I ran until I was 40 years old, until I finally realized that I "wasn't too sinful to be saved" after all. I thought I was beyond saving, and beyond grace, for decades. I thought God would NEVER forgive me for the things I had done. I finally submitted to Christ, confessed my sin and God completely changed me! He changed me from the inside out, making me a new creation! That was Oct. 9, 2011. Nearly a decade ago. Praise God for His patience and His loving kindness!

My grandpa is 78 years old and my whole family has been trying to present the gospel to him. I spoke to him 1 on 1 about salvation for the first time ever and used the way Ray does. God did not give us a spirit of fear, you heard that ? It is supposed to be real as in you shouldn't have fear of punishment and anything giving you that fear is not of God for he gives us peace and a sound mind. Our tongue has power of life and death who can tame it ? Lean on him and not on your own understanding. Your granpa will be fine, God says he justifies the ungodly, it is not who wills it or who runs it is God that shows mercy. Instead of trying to save your granpa with hysteria in his last years here on Earth I recommend spending time with him and get to know him more as you say you love him so show some works and make his last years good time well spent with the ones he loves. Also John said those who love are of God, I am sure your granpa loves as I hear your family concerns over his eternal life seem like loving folks from a loving father. Live in the fearless grace of God, he is not worried.

Not in the way of cowering before him, but because of our upmost love and respect for him. Same way when you would be nervous and scared when your parents stare at you after you get in trouble.

Exactly! I would literally run from people handing out Gospel tracts. It put a spotlight on my sin and I HATED IT! I am a testament to God's patience and loving kindness. God could have struck me down and been totally righteous in his actions. I was a lying, stealing, fornicating, blasphemous jerk! I finally realized that I wasn't "too sinful to save", and confessed my sins, and asked God to change me and give me a NEW HEART, which He did! I am a NEW CREATION! The old has passed! Praise God for His mercy and patience!

That is why time and time again throughout the whole Bible, God shows us exactly how we can be forgiven of our daily sins. As humans we fall into sin, yes, because no one does good in the eyes of God. The difference is when we willingly give into temptation and knowingly break God's Law. When we do that, we must humble ourselves and ask for forgiveness, making our full effort to run from that sin. It isnt enough to say "I'm sorry" knowing that youre going to do it again within a day or week etc. Does this make sense?

But just to let you know - Ray was already a wealthy man before he got into the ministry (check up his history) - so all these things he is doing is to further the gospel - that I believe is one reason why God has so tremendously blessed the work he is doing. Again check up on the ministry itself and see where the money goes. I was Baptized last week!!! I tried handing out a track, to the attendant, at a gas station I always get a discount of 3¢ off per gallon, Loyalty Card. If you love Jesus with all your heart, read the Bible as much as you can daily. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you eyes to see and ears to hear and obey what you see. I started discipling a 16 year old Jewish girl in Israel and she's 19 now and out putting gospel tracts and New Testaments around the streets of Israel. She knows that Jesus is coming any day for His bride, so you can watch for Jesus too like Matthew 24:42-44 and Matthew 25. Read the book of Revelation to see what's coming.

(Jesus’s love for the backslider) Question: “If your 16 year old daughter ran away from home, and you were afraid and didn’t know where she was, and a few days later you found her to be safe and sound, would you not be extremely happy to see her again, and also see that she is okay? This is the same exact type of excitement that The Lord Jesus Christ feels when a Christian falls off of the right path but then chooses to return to Him! Whenever a believer strays away from the Lord or his teachings, Jesus Christ worries about them like a father who worries about His child who ran away from home! when that child comes home, Jesus Christ doesn’t yell at them or punish them. He is simply happy to see them; He gives them a big Hug! He welcomes them in, ask them if they are hungry, ask them if they are okay. Only God can save these people, These people are lost in sin but Jesus is the waymaker He's the Savior He can save anyone from sin. One of my favorite Bible verses is I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. I have depression and anxiety and feel Suicidal at times and I'll start praying and God stops me. For some reason I get visions of fighting. I used to be a wrestling fan and a thought that appeared in my mind was we're not wrestling with flesh and blood but against the principalities and powers of darkness in high places. I knew that was God speaking to me. It blows my mind that Jesus Christ uses our circumstances to teach us his word. Thank you Jesus Christ for loving me and taking my punishment that I deserve. I just realized my problem now with Ray Comfort. I could never really land on his approach to people in evangelism. He says that God's standard for living is PERFECTION. I thought Jesus Christ came because we could not fulfill God's law and be perfect on our own so we NEEDED Jesus to come and die on our behalf BECAUSE we miss the mark of PERFECTION. God's standard is PERFECTION and JESUS is that perfection. NOT US. Rather than tell these people the GOOD NEWS he puts people right back under the CONDEMNATION of the law which God's grace saved us from. THE PENALTY of GOD"S LAW is finished in Christ for us. JESUS DID PAY OUR FINE, MR. COMFORT. Don't tell people that after people accept His free gift of salvation that they are held to the same standard of Jesus perfection. That negates the NEED for a Savior altogether.

You know, many of us say “God knows my heart” as a justification for our sinful lifestyles but that’s actually really scary. It’s scary that God knows how evil our hearts truly are. The Bible says that it’s out of the abundance of the heart that the mouth speaks and these words are so true. In a video Ray said something like if we really wanna see a miracle to truly let God into our hearts and to see the changes He makes. When I tell you I can look back and see exactly when I was truly saved?? It breaks my heart to see how I THOUGHT I was good enough but was living in darkness. Ray, how can we be saved by grace through faith alone if we have to repent of our sins (a work) first? The repentance that leads to life (2Tim 2:25, Acts 11:18) is changing your mind about how you are saved. When you trust Christ (John 1:12) and are born again, then you then have the Holy Spirit living in you, then you are able to repent of sins. Until you’re born again, you cannot repent of sins (cannot please God) Rom 8:7.

@@NoahBuie Repentance is a complete turning away, Jesus says, "Go and sin no more". My interpretation on that is that to be perfect as our father in heaven is perfect. That's impossible to be perfect. In fact out of all the human race wasn't it only like 3 people in the entirety of the Bible perfect before God? You continue to repent for the same sin, that's absurd. That basically mocking God or worse crucifying Jesus on the cross again which I think Paul talks about. You ask for deliverance, yet the sin remains when tempted. God says he will leave you an out and then also in the Bible says that you have not been tempted to the point you have bleed. Meaning you continue to fall into this same sin even after repentance. Paul struggled with a sin and God never took him away from this but why? To live by grace and not be perfected? How are we to live a life pleasing in God's sight when we always fighting sin. I thought it was finished yet it still a fight? This stuff just makes no sense, but yet I do believe. It's very frustrating.

Salvation is from God, and repentance is a change of heart done by conviction through the Holy Spirit, and trusting in Jesus that He gave you His righteousness and took the wrath for your sin on the Cross. There is nobody who does not commit sin according to the Bible. Even born again followers of Christ. There is indeed a change of heart, and change of conduct, but we all sin. Anybody who tells you they are perfect are lying - We all need Jesus Christ even the "best" born again believers. I would love to chat with you more, do you have Discord?
