I JUST had a game with this happening. I had 167 gold, at lvl6. I ended up almost 3star'ing Ziggs. I had golden ticket too, which made the 167 gold nuts efficient. I was stuck with Disco Augment, so i had to stick to at least Disco 3 It was a wild ride, never had to panic roll this much to not throw my lead

Another detail that might be worth mentioning is that by early lvling to 7 he also gets an extra unit that can drop gold when dying, so over time it pays itself off

He's level 7 for 2 turns earlier the extra unit is worth .6 gold in return for ~ 3 interest. The more important thing here was probably streak preservation which is worth a lot more gold

Actually upon review it's closer to 6-7 intrest. And 3 turns of being 7. Which means .9 gold for the unit. Meanwhile 3 extra wins is equal to 12 gold. Sure the augment pushes it to 12.9 but I think he would do this regardless without the augmeht

You will just get gold for the duplicator if 9 units are already bought by any players or in shop. It actually pulls champs out of the pool and doesn't create a new copy of that champ :)

this is completely incorrect. mortdog has said multiple times that i generates a new unit independent from the pool. when sold, it does not return to the pool. So the answer to OP's comment is yes, you can hit 3* 5cost with duplicator holding 8 if someone else is holding 1. @@dread1255

It was changed for the first time for set 10! It's now 22/20/17/10/9, because there were way too many golden 4 and 5* on PBE this set.
