My dad got bald spots in the back of his head around age 34 so he would always wear a hat to cover it, or buzz it really short. It was always his dream to have long, head bang hair. He finally got to grow it out to about his chin, when it started to bald so bad he had to shave it all off. He cried. It was so emotional, because since he was in high school he had been going for the long hair look, and once he finally got it, it fell out. He just stood in front of the mirror with a tear dripping down his cheek while he buzzed off the remainder of his hair. He is only 39 too. One of the reasons it was so sad is because he also promised my brother, who was also trying to grow his hair out that he would do it with him, and they would take care of it together. They sort of bonded over their long hair in a way, so my dad losing it was really hard for him.
