The anime separated the Ilise'd Notebook story into a separate OVA and delayed it till after season 1, but that part of the plot originally happened at this point in the manga. Definitely consider showing it to them within the next few episodes.

@@pushqrdx Yes, I've watched the whole series multiple times. To be honest, my favorite part is the first half of Season 1. The anime is excellent at not lingering too long on the same theme. The first half of Season 1 focuses on horror, which I really enjoyed, but it’s all a matter of personal preference. Episodes 3x17 and 2x11 are also among my favorites. But I’m curious-what are your favorite episodes?

The green scenes (I'm not 100% sure) may be scenes they took from the comic or manga, as it's called in Japan. It's a shout out to the comic or maybe lazy animation. Maybe both. lol. "We're not easily confused" they said. lol. I'm sure you guys will be fine with the new subtitles. To be fair, I don't think anyone watched this show the first time without any confusion at some point or another. Hopefully your kids will clarify what they can if anything needs clarifying. Seeing this makes me wish i could get my parents to watch Attack on Titan. My dad would be a probable maybe on his own and only if its dubbed. Congrats on making it through the first half of season one, by the way. It only gets worse from here in the best awful way possible. Theres a lot of historical inspiration especially later on that will definitely hit on the commentary in an earlier video about an anime about the holocaust hitting emotional feelings compared to fiction. Just remember. If you think youre right abput something. You MIGHT be. But youll also likely be hitting a bullseye on the other side of the shooting range cause we are just starting this parental advisory world tour.

I want to follow your reactions to this story. It's one of my favorite stories of all time across all mediums. It's right up there with The Counte of Monte Cristo as a work of fiction for me. Please watch the English dub so you're able to fully immerse yourself and enjoy the experience. I really think forcing yourselves to watch the Japanese version with subtitles is unnecessary and making it more difficult for you. This is a show and story that is fairly long. 4 seasons of 20 or more episodes. Consider watching the English dub permanently. That's my suggestion to you as an avid fan of the franchise and story. There are so many moments I can't wait for you to experience and see your reactions to. I love what you guys are doing. Be like Erin and keep moving forward 👍

Don't know if you'll read this but although I despise "dub" (for foreign movies) maybe for "certain" episodes you could change it to dub for them? (e.g episodes heavy with exposition/lore drop) I mean it so they don't get lost reading or maybe just tired and not being able to grasp or losing information. Just a thought. So far they have been doing great, specially if they're not used to 1- anime and 2- watching with subtitles. Some people just make a mountain out of a molehill. Cheers!

Your reactions are great already, but I think you guys would enjoy the English dubbed version more. The English voice acting is very well done, and the dialogue is way more natural. It also makes it a lot easier to remember characters because of their voices. It brings their personalities out more (for English speakers).

We told them already, even subtitle supporters such as I, told them they should watch in dub if they are not used to read subtitles. It's better to understand the story and details rather than experience iconic voice acting. My father have problem reading subtitles too, he is not used to consume subtitled shows and he is not a fast reader too, meanwhile I am 95% of times watching shows, movies, anime and KZbin contents in subtitles for the past 20 years because I am not native in English, so I am used to reading. He says when he reads, he can't see what's going on and misses details and scenes, so it is understandable. Becauses we told them multiple times in the past episodes and we heard (sorry I forgot her name) the lady in the middle watches again in English dub when she is home, made me think that their kids are forcing them to watch in subtitles.

@@Haplo-sanI 100% agree. Also no matter how good the Japanese voice acting is, it still isn’t that impactful to people who aren’t used to watching things in a foreign language. Attack on titan has one of the best English dubs, but the Japanese voice acting is incredible so people basically force it on new watchers. But these reactors would really enjoy the show more by watching the English dub. Not only enjoy, but it would also be easier to understand things and remember characters.
