Things school leaves out about the confederacy and the south is that the 1st slave owner in America was a black man. Not all black people in the south were slaves and thousands owned slaves and thousands also fought for the confederacy during the Civil War. I'm 42 and I remember in the 90's almost every black rapper from the south supported the confederate flag in 1 way or another with shirts, album covers or the flag itself

Not to mention it was the white countries that abolished slavery and only non white countries still observe slavery today,but it's all the white man even though it was their own people that sold them in the first place 😮😮😮

This video was shot in Chicago. Adam Calhoun hometown is New Lenox, IL. He spent his early life in rap battles in Chicago those guys in the hood are his friends. He also said when he was in prison his black cell mates called him the N word because he was part of the group. He doesn't use that word anymore because understands how hurtful it can be for people. He did an interview with Stevie Knight talking about it.

Great video bro! There is a pride that comes with being southern that has nothing to do with race. It’s about how you live and how you treat others. That’s what the flag represents to a lot of us southern born and raised 🤘🏿

That flag represents rebellion against the establishment, a rebel spirit caused by a deep-seated mistrust of the g.ovt. It's about my Southern heritage, not hate. Also, they never taught that the Civil War was fought over states' rights to secede from the Union. Slavery was one issue, but it was NOT the central issue of the war. Also, the emancipation proclamation only freed sla es in the states who had attempted to to secede. The slaves in the North remained enslaved until the war was over. Also, down here I small-town GA, the black guys wore shirts with the stars and bars, and a lot of them had the same flag as their front tags on their trucks.

Agreed, that's why I don't like it when people google info and then think what they find is truth. There are many places, even on the internet to get unbiased facts about things (To make your own assessment), but when you read an article you are basically just hearing the writers opinion.

The "Confederate Flag" is known in the South as the "Rebel Flag" they see it as a symbol of their rebellious nature, Ryan Upchurch has a good video on this called Apology or something, it was about a different thing but in it he was explaining why he uses that flag. It's pretty informative.

I’m from the South. It’s our flag that gets hijacked by RACISM crap. It simply in a southern flag. We are proud of where we come from. I’m not racist. We aren’t a racist people here today. My daughters fiancé is mixed and her ex is a nice young black man and I loved them both. We don’t see color. We see character

I think the Nazi flag vs the confederate flag are a bit different 😒 It’s voiced as a “Rebel flag.” By no means did all of the “confederates” fight ‘just to keep slaves’. Many people were fighting for their land/area, and had nothing to do with slaves. Ya gotta stop thinking things are all racist. Arkansas isn’t “racist,” as a whole. It’s not fair to group people together, when you don’t want to be put in a certain category of human 🤷♀️ Legit.

lol...uuhhmmm...accually that flag is the Tennessee Battle Flag most commonly misidentified as the Confederate Flag. Also I would ask how do you feel about the British Flag, or the first US, as both of those ran, promoted and benefited from slavery for hundreds of years, how long was the civil war like 3 and a half, just saying.
@tracker258 Жыл бұрын
Look slavery was wrong just flat out! But during that time it was their life everyday. What about the ones that treated them good and didn't beat them and were respected as workers and men and took care of their family. If they let them go were would they go? There were also black men that fought on the confederate side. Maybe they were force to fight some maybe not that's all they knew.
