George Carlin is an incredibly important comedian, considered one of the "holy trinity" of stand-up (alongside Lenny Bruce and Richard Pryor). His fascination with language and how he played around and structured his routines were a cornerstone of his comedy and I connect with it so much lol. As much as his later material is by far the more popular stuff these days, I personally prefer his younger stuff. His cynicism and anger are a big part of his appeal to most folks, and that's definitely part of what got me into him in the first place, but nowadays I lean more toward the fun and whimsical side that was more present in his younger years. I highly recommend his bits on Time, Stuff, and Losing Things. They're all absolute gold.

Ok so I am a fat person, been over 300 pounds for most of my life (peaked at 400). It's one thing to be happy with your body, to rock it with whatever you want to wear and let those insecurities go, that's great. We're all genetically built slightly different, some are built to be thicker, some are built with more muscle, some are built skinnier, and it's best to embrace it. It's entirely different from when you're actively killing yourself by eating too much or too little. Being a bit chubby is fine, we're supposed to have some fat on us; it's when your blood's full of sugar, blood pressure is high, or you have trouble walking with all the weight that there's a serious issue that you need to fix.
@Fuerwahrhalunke4 күн бұрын
Cut processed foods and sugar, drink water and go for 10km walks every day. No need to train otherwise or do much calorie-counting. You'll lose weight easily. It's just the motivation that has to start it all. Sadly, as for most things, motivation only starts once reality sets in, in the form of deathly illnesses. Even just being chubby isn't fine. That's a mega cope. You still have a higher chance of having a stroke than others with lower weight, unless you are active.
@quakxy_dukx3 күн бұрын

Funny Story. From 1989 to 1993, there was a show called Shining Time Station. It was a children's show that aired on PBS, which was set in a railroad station. from 1991-1993, George Carlin played Mr. Conductor. He was a magical character, about a foot tall, who talked to the children at the station, and lived in a mural on the wall. He would also set up the "Thomas the Tank Engine" shorts that they showed. This means there were children who were familiar with Carlin, but apparently their parents were not. As such, said parents would find out that George Carlin was doing a performance near them, and take their children. Just imagine some parent's shock when they bring their five or six year old to see Mr. Conductor, and end up getting this.

MAGA people hear one anti-PC language bit and think he would be on their side when his politics aren’t as shallow as a lot of these “left the left” types who suddenly change all their beliefs to right wing slop bc they got cancelled on the internet once. He didn’t care if he offended anybody not from some “anti-woke” or “anti-PC” edgelord position but because he knew what team he was fighting for and what his intentions and who his enemies were and didn’t need to convince anyone else. It took conservatives until after he died for them to try and co-opt him as “one of them” bc if these conservative hacks said it while he was alive he’d track them down just to tell them to go fuck themselves

I’m from ‘Murica! And i’d love to recommend Gallagher, Lewis Black, Ron White and Mitch Hedburg.

I miss this man. Saw him by accident on HBO back in the mid 90's as a kid (6-7 years old, lol) Laughed hard at the cursing, not really "getting" the jokes. He went to I believe congress to talk about something, he made more joes and history lol. You should react to that seeing how he talked and didn't perform yet still made these tight wads in DC all laugh

George Carlin was the KING of seeing the world how it is. 'Murica needs a man like him and Lewis Black to rip it apart. Absolute GOAT. GOAT of GOATs.

my favorite part about George Carlin and his jabs at 'Murica (see what i did there) is the fact that his biggest fans are exactly the types he's critiquing lol

If you get more into his material, you'll see that Carlin was an absolute wordsmith. Even some of his material that you may agree or disagree with his perspective, you can only have respect for the way he presents it. There's a reason why most comedians acknowledge Carlin as one of the greats.

30:30 My mom had her own business so I really appreciate your point here! George is one of the realest comedians in history, usually likened to a philosopher, so it's great seeing you react to his stuff. He makes a lot of geopolitical takes throughout his shows hidden with comedy, so it's always intrestesting hearing from people who have never heard of his work! Great vid as always and I hope you take care!

"MURICA!! Also it baffles me that this is the same dude that narrated Thomas the Tank Engine for the States at one point. Literally my childhood.

Murica, and tbh hearing your talk about the restaurant and your business experiences in the past hit home hard because I work at a gas station and we used to be owned by a family group and they sold out to a corporation that came in and essentially completely screwed up the stores and drove off half our customers and reset all of our benefits all cause it's best for their pockets

Have seen his comedy for at least 25 years since I was a kid and it always remains relevant.

george carlin is a rare breed of comic: fearlessly funny. he didn't care who got offended or didn't like him. he said what he said and if you didn't like it? "get bent" . he was a global treasure and way beyond his years.

George Carlin was also the American dub narrator of the first four series of Thomas and Friends.

Gonna watch more George? I recommend ‘Our Similarities’ and ‘Flying’. Love George he’s my favorite, first heard him narrating Thomas and Friends. And his reasoning for doing Thomas is so nice. Saying he didn’t wanna leave this world being known as a cranky old man. 😢 Rip George.

I was cracking up laughing at your reactions to Carlin, till you mentioned the bowl of mac n' cheese. I then fell over laughing so hard..... Keep doing what you do and don't ever change.

Don't mean to be religious but the good Lord said:"I didn't make you to win arguments, I made you to win souls!" Also the wise old saying with success or any businesses or any endeavors is that you will plant the seeds of success and it might not be fully developed by the next one to fives years, but when it is full that next generation and or family will inherent all of your earthly good deeds to make or create a better tomorrow. It might not happen right away, the next day, or it might not happen at all; but you gave it your all. You have it 100 to 120 or more percent, you didn't give up or give in or even cave to criticism. You are the best person and the only person who will make it better for not only yourself but also for everyone around you and everyone you interact with!!
