It’s unfortunate there were no ramps. Even more unfortunate the elevator hardly fit Makayla and her wheelchair! 😔... But very exciting and proud moment Damien learned how to swim! Way to go dude! Hopefully all goes well with the tests. Have a good rest of your trip.

Damien did so good in the pool!! My little cousin Landen would never want to let go of me in the pool but now he's just like Damien and jumps right in!! It's always fun staying the night in a hotel ❤️ I hope baby girls appointments went well & safe drive home!!

just like me and my grandkids as soon as we get to the motel/hotel we want the pool. got to love Damien. he did so great in such a short time. I love when he was pushing you away and like saying let me but don't go too far. wish baby girl could go in but she looked happy just watching.

The wheelchair accessibility in that hotel was woeful. You think when staff saw you they would have given you a wheelchair accessible room and let you know which lifts did what. It is eye opening

I thought several years ago, a law passed, stating that all governmental buildings had to provide access for handicapped citizens, too. However, I know a hotel is not owned/operated by the government.

I think that's a law. They are required by law to be wheelchair accessible.

That doesn’t make sense that they wouldn’t have an elevator for the pool area. I’ve been to that hotel myself and I am very shocked. You should email them and complain nicely of course. They are also close to a lot of Trono hospitals in that area and they should have put that into consideration when building/ when updating

I've been watching since Damien was about a year old, and it's so awesome to see how much y'all have grown and continue to grow. I think it's crazy that in 2019 wheelchair accessible hotels are still hard to find unless. I use a wheelchair and when I travel I still find myself flabbergasted with the limitations imposed due to lack of accessibility. I usually have to use side and rear entrance doors. I can't believe that was supposed to be a wheelchair accessible elevator. I've managed to luck out in smaller areas because I have dwarfism and require a small compact wheelchair. I have a twenty inch rim to trim width and I don't think even my chair would have been able to get through the door.
