Fr. Arun Philip Simon SJ, a newly ordained priest, grew up in a traditional Catholic family. Although his parents wanted him to pursue medicine, he chose Chemical Engineering. After graduating from NIT, Rourkela, he was selected for doctorate studies at a renowned institute, IIT Bombay, India. During this time, he became involved in a charismatic youth movement that radically changed his life, and he started to heed his call to the priesthood. After attending a discernment retreat, he discerned that he was called to be a priest of Christ. But how will he inform his family and peers that he is to discontinue his doctorate studies and pursue his vocation?
