It really is hard to find someone that you share common interests. I was dating someone that liked to hike, ski, workout etc and we did a lot of day hikes and skiing and liked the same books. We were well paired that way, but he was still playing the field and I got to feeling icky about that. I live in an area where most men aren’t into fitness stuff or even taking care of themselves. It’s always disconcerting when a guy messages me on a dating app and his profile picture shows him with a cigarette in his mouth and he’s just plain messy. They obviously didn’t read my profile to see what I’m all about. Smoking is a deal breaker right up front. People ask me all the time why I’m single. It’s just really hard to find someone that you can blend lives with. Most men want a woman that can come to them and just abandon their own lives. It’s really hard when two people both have established lives.

Thank you Jonathon for another awesome video. Your description of the four critically important qualities of a relationship including attention by being present, affection with both touch and physical intimacy, appreciation through the expression and reception of words of gratitude, and acceptance of a person for who they truly are as a person even when they drive you a little crazy. Sharing one or more passions together in alignment is a true blessing as well, and especially so in midlife. I also appreciate your candidness in your description of what happened in your most recent relationship. 🌟

The point on children....AMEN! If your child is your highest priority, don't expect a romantic partner to make your child their highest priority and accept being last. Just NOPE. I did that with one man and I still have a physical repulsion in me when I think about how awful I felt in that dynamic and all the toxity he created by idolizing that child above everything. It just does not work. Great episode Jonathon

I can relate to the anxiety around traveling. I'm completely the same way. Traveling gives me bad anxiety. It's awful. I've missed out on so many incredible opportunities because of it. Makes me sad to think about it. My brother is the same way. He would drive all the way.. arrive at his destination. Not feel comfortable..and turn around and drive back. True story. So I completely get it.

I am very disappointed and even upset reading comments of women who often comment and who seemed to me nice earlier, but now when they saw something positive as story of Seth and Deb, they turned into ... So many malicious comments... I am in shock. What is wrong with people today that they cannot be happy for someone else's happiness?? And the comments about Africa...seriously people??? Deb and Seth, if you are reading this...I wish you all the happiness in this world! Do not pay attention to envious people. Those who cannot be happy for others and their happiness, will never be happy themselves. You two seem like lovely people and your positive energy and courage to share something nice in this gloomy world, is amazing.

Thank you, Jonathon. Even if two people have the same religion, if one isn't that into the religion, there can be misalignment. I think it may be possible for two people of different religions to make it work: there will be friction if both are really into their religions, but they'd have to be incredibly emotionally mature, just like I have heard two people from different cultures need to have great emotional maturity from a quote from Micheal Caine the British actor and his, if I remember correctly, Asian wife. When saying emotional maturity I mean beyond tolerance, I mean beyond appreciation, I mean being able to be compassionate to their views, their person, their passionate feelings as a fellow human being. I come from a family of divided religions, and our family survived with at least an eventual high respect on most sides and always a ton of unconditional love that was constantly shown and proved daily. There was a unity in the family, fierce loyalty, shared values and character that has lasted all our lives.

Sounds like a wonderful family! I agree! Nothing is written in stone, whatever works for you … there are many formulas that can work for different ppl and for each particular individual. I personally don’t like fanatics or people that want to push their religious agenda into others (respect , boundaries , maturity and genuine care help any relationship) I’ve also been in touch with different religions due to life’s circumstances and it was a learning experience … I stayed in the one I was born in, but I am into spirituality and do like exploring different philosophies.

By the way, he started out as snother client. He lives in SoCal and you may remember I am in AZ. I suggested we get together when he was here visiting his sister at Thanksgiving. We met for drinks, and at one point I divulged my longstanding fears related to progressing age (a lifetime problem of mine). He is 1 yr younger and seemed surprised to hear it. The drinks were strong and I was going on too little sleep from Thanksgiving the night before so things are a bit of a blur which happens even without alcohol when nervous. He also was very respectfully touching me frequently which I didn't reciprocate as am so aftraid of reading the room wrong!

I've been thinking about your profile on Match. I know you think it's excellent, but as a woman, I think you should rewrite it. I think it's asking too much of someone. It's way too heavy. No one knows if they are willing to go the distance with someone they don't even know yet. I think you should be more spontaneous and not place so many demands on a prospective date or relationship. Take it easy...one day at a time. Just because you like going to these very intense places, most people don't go that deep. They may work up tp it with you, but your expectations are way too high. I think you need to lighten it up and lower your expectations. Be more playful and let people discover these things about you slowly.

Just to motivate people, I think it's very likely the people who experience, in themselves, and together with another, the most deeply connected, mind-blowing, take-you-to-another-world-lose-yourself sex have gotten "connected with their insides," to be emotionally/mentally grounded so they can be aware of the subtle, to be very vulnerable and have delt with their trust issues. These things, Everybody, you need just to function socially with others, like just to give out good vibes at the grocery store and have a good experience grocery shopping out among your neighbor, but I thought I'd give you some extra motivation. Lol! Bet you never thought you'd see grocery shopping and sex in the same comment!🤣 Yet seriously, I have heard an old man say that before sex became more "recreational" in modern times, it used to be the most electrifying thing, something, I'm sure, that was sacred and may still be sacred yet to remaining loving, unselfish beings on the planet.
