It was a minor breach in Finland, and no information was stolen because NordVPN doesn’t keep logs. Also it was the fault of the server providers, not Nord.

In fact that it was a Server Key that was stolen, and a dummy server could of been created and ran for the entire month, before the Key was changed. I Really. REALLY recommend researching it. Especially Tom Scott's video on VPN's and JayTwoCents Video on it. They also do not know if Many if not more NordVPN servers are also completely compromised.

It's because he pays back his loans regularly, so it's actually fairly safe that you'd get what you loaned him back on top of whatever extra is agreed upon at some point. It's a low risk situation for a high return; you just have to wait a while until he gets enough money saved up to pay you back.

Man, this whole video was like a PSA on the dangers of gambling and gambling addiction. It's almost textbook about how some people act outside the game - place some bets that go badly with money they couldn't afford to lose (or at least, really didn't want to lose), take out loans to chase the losses, and find themselves in a vicious spiral where they feel like the only way they can actually escape is to keep trying to take out loans until they hit that big (and unlikely) win or streak.

It is also possible that the money from the stake went to the guy(s) who lent the money. There has been a huge item and gold duplication glitch going on recently on osrs, where people crash the server on purpose so that the game struggles to remember what people have in their inventory. This can cause the same amount of money that was traded before the server crashed to be duplicated on those accounts. This happens because not every person has the same "save load" after the server comes back up. And this also means that the gold can disappear from the game completely.

@EZScape There were another 2 times items were returned. They were due to the rollback with the twisted bow spawn. An iron died at GWD and lost some items, retrieved them, logged before the system reset timer, posted to Reddit and it got big. When the rollback happened, he was rollbacked before his death but the items were missing still. Another player traded their Zerk 50m and it was missing from both accounts. That was also refunded.

It's stuff like this being the reason why many Streamers sort of ditched that exclusive Pk'ing and Staking content and have just settled with Ironman accounts.Even some PvP-Exclusive Streamers make content more on the build-up and results of their accounts for a while. Even Jagex are sort of embracing players making these types of accounts and made the Twisted League which is essentially a Region-Locked Ironman competition. Which right now seems to have a better reception than their attempt at making Deadman Mode an Esport.

I think that they should implement the same system ff14 has. A ONE time item retrieval system. They can check recent logs for proof and you only get thos service once. You cleared the hardest current raid and accidently while clearing out your inventory got rid of your token? Contact a gm. Lost a large amount of gil due to a bug? Same thing. Gms can check logs for legitimacy and if they see things line up, you get your ONE thing back, Once for your account

If they decide to do nothing, then issues of this magnitude could severely damage the in-game economy, because by destroying wealth it gives buying power to everyone who still has wealth and trend prices downward temporarily. If it is someone's goal to severely impact the economy for their own gain (something that is not uncommon in virtual worlds -- or our own) then continually DDoSing the servers at pivotal moments will continue to cause people to lose wealth and disincentivize any sort of participation in the game's economy as too large a risk to manage.

There's a lot of things that aren't true towards the end of the video. Odablock wasn't hopping worlds to get away from DDoSers (maybe at the start) but he was literally hopping on purpose just to grief people on those worlds. Jagex also has been begun to refund items if bugs happen, like when the second Raid came out or when they messed up by making regular worlds to Deadman worlds, their policy has been that if it's their fault, they'll refund it. The squirrel incident was probably before they updated their systems to keep track of this stuff.

Indeed they absolutely can. However if RS3 taught us anything, it only takes one spastic to ruin it. The price of mages books and archers rings were destroyed forever as a rather immensely big number of them were returned by mistake and the people dumped them into the market. Can't even trust the moderators to return them, let alone not have people abuse the fuck out of it (hell, people getting stat resets in OSRS due to Jagex being incompetent, people abused that too).
