@RaniaIsAwesome
@RaniaIsAwesome 28 күн бұрын
Anand wasn't really having that thing about how it doesn't happen in other sports either, he was too polite to object but you could see it. I mean think about how in basketball you could be winning by 1 point, then other scores, and it flips, how is that not losing in one play? In football one team could be attacking and nearly scoring, and suddenly a slip up and it all turns around with the other team scoring.

@@link-zi8eg In association football no you can't. In ches you have limited chances against a top GM anyway and the top GMs themselves almost never make a blunder they get to an unplayable position from as Levy acknowledges in the video. Whole thing doesn't add up.

Easiest way (to calculate mathematically) to win the Tournament. OPEN Nepo: winning 1 game and the rest of the games are draws Gukesh: same as Nepo. Pragg: Beating Nepo and winning another game to overtake Gukesh. Fabi or Hikaru: Beating both Gukesh and Nepo to be +3 and the rivals would be +1 if rest of games are draws. Vidit: if the rest of games are draws, he needs 3/4 and a draw to be +3 and win without ties Alireza: going 4/4 would be +1. And hoping miracles with ties. Abasov. No options. WOMEN'S Tan and Lei: assuming the games of the rest of the field are draws, winning 1 more game than the other one. Lagno: winning the two battles against the chinese and the rest are draws (she'd be the only +3) Goryachkina: winning 3/4 (+4) or winning 2/4 and both chinese lose 1 so she's the only +3 (she plays one of them) Humpy: going 4/4, Beating Tingjie in the process and hoping that Tan loses a game and rest are draws. Muzychuk: if the rest are draws and she goes 4/4, she'd tie both Tan and Lei (she plays both), so she would need each of them to lose 1 game against non-russians (so that the russian don't get to +2 either) Salimova: similar to Muzychuk. But since Salimova has played Lei, Lei would need to lose two games against non-russian rivals. (I've checked the pairings and it is possible mathematically speaking. Vaishali: Like firouzja. Going 4/4 and praying for a miracle with ties.

@@RaniaIsAwesome This is such a stupid take. Hikaru being better at bullet than classical is because of his opponent also playing bullet. Not a single chess player plays worse with 3 hours than with 1 minute "no matter how much time the opponent has", that doesn't even make sense.

Like levy said there is more nuances then he should stop walking. What if he wants to go the bathroom? The issue is this should have been discussed on day 1. But even that's hard to do. No1 is checking how loud shoes are when checking the players.
@g3n3r1c6
@g3n3r1c6 27 күн бұрын
@pianissimo7121 That was literally my first thought. Like, does he just hold it in the whole game? How could he have known his shoes would cause issues? Levy is totally on the money: Why did nobody lay down a carpet near the exits during the tournament? Maybe they didn't expect this issue to arise either. I guess now that it has, they'll actually consider laying down carpets.

Alireza is a punk. And the apple doesn't fall far from the tree because his dad is a punk too. When things aren't going a punks way, a punk kicks up a bunch of dirt to try to get the upper hand on his opponents. It's the punk way.

The only issue is that you are ignoring Magnus just because he isn't into playing in your little candidate tournament thing. I mean listen man, you can't give up on Magnus just because of a single small drama. You know you love Magnus. Sometimes love can include 3 people, that's all I have to say.
