I had two kids a girl and boy. My girl at 18 when on her own to NYC, moved into a boarding house. It was scary for me, I was proud of her independence, and didn’t want to express my fears. She stayed three weeks, ran out of money, couldn’t get a job, so she came home. She didn’t move in with me and her brother but in with a friend. She went back to working and finished her high school diploma. Now at 29, she has her BA in marine biology. I am proud of her achievements, and know that her experience has prepared her for the future. I don’t worry about her, she figures out her obstacles.

I for one definitely appreciate Mick’s journey! It is inspiring to see the way he set out to “cut his own trail”. Life is a journey and along the way you build knowledge from experiences (good and bad)… it is those experiences you learn the most from that builds the foundation of wisdom… i look forward to seeing where you land in 5-10 years. We don’t have the time ahead of us we think we do, especially at 18….
