You never know what you might see on The Lodge Live stream. You might see Pocket Aces vs Pocket Kings. You may see the nut straight lose to a full house after the board pairs on the river. There's a good chance you will see loads of straddles (and double straddles, and triple straddles). Players go all-in blind or play poker hands after looking at just one card. That's just what poker is like in Texas!
The show regularly features Lodge owners Brad Owen, Andrew Neeme, and Doug Polk. Players like Rampage, Mariano, and Igor Kurganov has also graced The Lodge Live felt. And who knows? One day The Lodge may even host players like Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, or similarly huge poker names.

It wasn't a slowroll. He was deciding whether or not to gamble the flush, because the all-in was kinda weird but would make sense for any hand scared of a flush draw of a better ace, and there was a lot that could be beating him in that spot. Any Ace-10 or higher, a set, lucky 2 pairs, even possibly some combos of the straight flush draw. Bazooka mentioned that his opponent was straddled, and he also raised to $100 preflop, so his range could be almost any of these hands.

There is little math in poker, no matter what they say. Its a cruel game and you should not take it up, not unless you have millions to gamble with. But besides that do not play this game! Example only yesterday I raised with pocket kings, I get one caller. No ace on flop no flush draw just 3 of spades k clubs and 7 hearts.. so I have trip kings... massive hand! I bet 6 k, he goes all in. I call and With glee I turn my hand over having KKK, he shows a silly A2 spades, so I have him. Turn comes Q spades, river is 9 spades! I lose to an idiot who gets lucks with spade spade runners! I should give up playing poker, its nonsense! Too many miracles that occur too often.

@glennhagstedt
@glennhagstedt Жыл бұрын
@@BensonBros22 No it doesnt, thats one of the biggest misconceptions there is in gambling, it doesnt always even out, thats the thing. Winning certain spots can change your entire life and your confidence to move forward, people who claim that it evens out is just plain stupid. 2 years ago i came 18th in Sunday Million for 3600$, i lost QQ against AQ on a AQ2 board, I was at 2nd i chips at the time and lost against the chipleader, i would have had 180bbs while the guy in second had 40bbs. If i win that pot i probably end atleast top 5 in the tournament, which was 35K$, and i might even win it for over 110k$. That 18th place gave me nothing while 10x that amount might have changed my entire poker career. So no, it doesnt always even out since i've struggled since that hand.

That's not what he means dude. Sorry about your shitty luck in the milly but he's saying over a large sample size weird gum guy is gonna win in that spot much closer to the 98% odds that he had. Of course there's variance or fish wouldn't play, like "bazooka joe" lol, obvious fish.

@@emphatically I just rewatched the clip because I'm exhausted and could easily be missing something (legitimately on my 4th straight week of averaging 3-4 hours per night) but it looks like he was raised by $1,755 and total pot if he calls is $4,140 1,755/4,140 = 42.4% I agree he still has it against most players because it is a straight up profitable call against AK and 2-pair plus he absolutely crushes any semi-bluff they actually have in range but it still depends on the player. Against someone that is only shoving sets combo draws and some nut flush "draws" (I mean the guy basically 3x potted it over a min-raise) he blocks T9 98 Ax 54hh and 85hh potentially out of pre-flop open range and suddenly he is against only sets and does not have the equity.
