Cheaper than taking it in to the shop and you get to wait in your house rather than waiting in a shop .

I'm pretty sure all you have to do to get the CV axle out is a pry bar for the transmission side and a 34 MM socket for the hub side.
@tpolarbeart3 ай бұрын
@@klwthe3rd should been that simple. It wouldn't come out of the knuckle. Tried sledge Hammer, air hammer, even the special tools that push it out and that tool exploded and that's when I gave up. He taught me to drive early , I crashed into a tree unhooking a 16 ft trailer when I was about 10. He bought land and I remember helping him clear part of from pine trees, we added rooms to our small house, we built garages and sheds. Poured concrete slabs and driveways, we had a few cows, and I remember always going to get hay and taking care of them. So many memories but everyday there was always work to do. He told me,” you’re here with me so that you know what hard work really is, so that you go out and get a good education and live a better life than your mother and I, you don’t want to spend your whole life destroying your body.” So I became a Mechanical Engineer , working in Aerospace now. It’s hard to pass on that type of experience when you don’t live the life, but I realized my father lived a hard life so that I could live a better one, and I’ll live my life to set my kids up to be my successors.

man i just did this to my 2003 malibu that had brake calipers installed incorrectly and rubbing against the rotor during driving. the amount of heat build up after years FUSED the wheel hub to the wheel knuckle. i had to entirely remove the knuckle and smash the center of the wheel hub and break it to get it out. it took me like a week and then after, i found out you need a new axle nut every time u take one off the hard way... fkn thing loosened every 3 days while i was driving.. the cost of the tools alone is worth more than all of the parts involved, torque wrench different socket sizes possibly loctite, socket wrench with different sizes, jack stands, jack, blah blah blah blah

Ac job is definitely more expinsive. I love doing ac work cause i supize people with how cheap i can get parts and labor. And a lot of the times i save thrm thousands just by checking cadin filters some shops have told my clients they need compressors or evap coils and its funny when i come behind the shop and show the customer the shop was lieing and was trying to either steall from them or were just lazy not checking everything before adding freon or saying they need lots of work 😅😢

I've done this job, and many others on multiple vehicles thanks to KZbin. Mechanic work isn't only about knowledge or your capabilities sometimes it just takes some confidence and drive 😅 don't give up and you'll find where there's a will there's a way 😊

I respect that these people tried. I really like it when someone tries to fix it Before Calling someone else. Being Maintenance technician that gets Called to fix everything this is really nice change of pace for once.

Must be hard sometimes having people talking into your ear while you try to get the job done. Personally I just prefer peace of mind while I'm working on something, so kudos for dealing with all the chit chatter.

You can youtube any job but you still need the skills to know what you are doing. I've fixed multiple things with youtube I have a semi intermediate understanding of mechanics and sometime just need to know how things go.

@@klwthe3rd you know you can be an electrician in construction site? How do you think a building gets its electrics?
@klwthe3rd3 ай бұрын
@@linslus100 Yes it's possible i guess. But when someone works in that capacity they usually state something like, "i work as a electrican for a construction company". But you could be correct.

@@klwthe3rd saying you are "in construction" is a general term, electricians are a part of construction.

Maintenance items I can do myself. When it comes to more convoluted jobs, I would much rather not risk it. I’ve done a knock sensor on my old V6 camry, ended up taking it to a mechanic 2 months later for the sensor anyways. It's just better to sometimes spend a little more for an easier life.

I am an electrician by trade as well,an.electrical fitter/mechanic so I have repaired power tools, dough mixers (gearboxes in them) , commercial front & top loader washing machines (bearing change & gearbox rebuilds), electrical motor rewinds & overhauls as well as mine workshop & construction work as well as panel wiring. I have also helped wire up bulk haulage trains 16 years ago & I also did a small automotive course at tech 30 years ago (automotive industrial) which was an introductory course tu become a diesel fitter or diesel mechanic. The tech dissuaded me from becoming a mechanic for some reason but I have also been unemployed for 16 months in Australia in the electrical trade so there's something wrong,I do just about all of the work on my car. I have rebuilt a few car & lawnmower engines in the past !
