I saw "I'd like to see Nic's Wee", thought it was going to be an off spelling like Weener. But yeah other than that I agree to your comment to an extent... At first I'd give them 1 video ever two weeks and see how it goes... Plus they might not be able to poop out decent video ideas that fast, unless you meant 1 whole week per year or 6 months... Idk. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's awesome to see videos from Nic and Phil. Nic just seems so chill the whole time, it's actually pretty relaxing to watch. Nothing flashy, or expensive, no need for the best of everything, just a reasonable PC with great performance, and it turned out looking really good. Phil is just entertaining to watch, and his excitement and happiness is really infective. And I love that Nic is just so nonchalant, and doesn't really seem to care if anyone else is impressed, he's just satisfied with it regardless.

Nicely done Nick, I will say I had that same CPU cooler on my past 12700K in my Torrent case and with a decent OC, it worked great due to the massive amount of airflow that case has.. Unfortunately when I went to the 13900KS in that case, air-cooling was not going to cut it.. and putting a AIO on that case is not as fun.
@Mastermoussa
@Mastermoussa Жыл бұрын
The U12A would work for on a 13900K for gaming just fine. Only when Benchmarking it will scratch on the temp-limits. But Jay is underestimating this cooler by a lot. If you watch comparisions you see that this cooler is only slightly behind the NH-D15 which is the best aircooler on the market.
@killer01ws6
@killer01ws6 Жыл бұрын
@@Mastermoussa Oh, don't get me wrong, the U12A severed me well and I think Torrent case are a very good combo. but trust me the U12A would not keep this KS cool... it is a sweet chip, but she runs HOT
@Mastermoussa
@Mastermoussa Жыл бұрын
@@killer01ws6 I don't exactly know on the KS but for the K you can even see on Noctuas website that they rated the U12A for this CPU. And I also looked around on youtube and reddit where they said that for gaming and normal workloads it will keep up with the 13900K. But I would also go for the NH-D15 to be on the safe side.

Sick build! I remember and miss the days when you could build a 70ti class build for a 1000 bucks. Crazy to think an i5/70ti build cost close to 2000 bucks. Love the air tower and single NVME. It's super low maintenance and is pretty much set it and forget it. It's also nice seeing a non-RGB build. I feel like industry decided that only 1 type of styling is possible with RGB. You need to have all fans lit up with an RGB AIO. All builds are built in a white case with white fans and all look the same. So the lack of RGB is refreshing.
@JEFFAK633
@JEFFAK633 Жыл бұрын
Thanks guys, great video! The Torrent case is good airflow wise and great looking, especially with the front lit up with shadows, angles and glow. What I don't like are that 3.5" drives (if your moving old archive drives) have to be manually screwed in using both the rubber grommets and provided screws if you have any to move over. Even my 10 year old Cooler Master case has quick no tool drive holders. The cabling works, but the Corsair i series power supply ICUE cable is a bit tight since the USB 2 headers tend to be on the bottom of most motherboards - suggest aftermarket replacement longer cable. Any RGB lighting will glow through the top plastic and reveal hexagons through the top from bottom structure which was a cool surprise. (using white version) When building the top with the buttons & ports should be protected as will easily scratch or mar when upside down. I took out the 140 fans and moved the 2 180's to the bottom in order to fit a 420' push pull rad in front mostly to have RGB both in front and inside. 420 AIO on the bottom does fit but is a no go because of pump orientation. Still put a 140 exhaust because it was there. The final caveat the two captive case screws in the rear top come out easily, but must be secured to lift the case safely as that's the only hand hold and it could be easy to grab and create a catastrophe if not fastened in all the way.

Good job Nic. My new build is similar. I went with a 12400F on msi z690 tomahawk with gskill ddr5 and an EVGA 3070 FTW3. My target was actually for 40+ FPS in DCS World with max settings as before I was at 19 FPS with minimum settings. I hit 83+ at 1440p so well over my target. I chose the Dark Rock Pro4 tower cooler and Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut paste. Temps rarely get over 56c in games.

17:50 there you see that Jay is not so much informed of Aircooler. The NH-U12A that he chose even works for a 13900k as long as you don't mind that it comes to its limits on benchmarks. But for gaming it will work just fine. And even on Noctuas website you can see that this cooler is rated as one of the best for the 13900k. The NH-D 15 which is the best Aircooler on the markt is only slightly better than this compact beast of a cooler.

Really enjoyed the slightly chaotic filming of this one. Especially the ending. I liked Nic's justification for his choices. Not everyone does a super deep dive on all the options, and his research was comprehensive enough. He had legitimate reasons for those choices, even if there were other options that could have improved the long term viability. Overall, a really fun video with some top tier cable management.

Hey there Guys... Consider the benefits of the 4070 TI. DlSS 3.0, AV1 Encoding, 3090 performance for half the power consumption.. I heard all the negative reviews but then after looking at it compared to the other options, it's a really good deal. $799 (what I paid for mine at newegg), and it drops right in a standard case, uses only 2 PCIE connectors and delivers 3090+ performance.. yeah.. it's a winner. Nice build by the way. Cheers Rick
