Wow, the light novel was axed too, after 2 volumes. I was able to dig up the (Japanese) web novel. Only 4 chapters (equivalent to short volumes). So probably about the same as the light novel. Best not to get too vested in this.

This is the story where the Mc’s friend told mc (a 15 year old) if he wasn’t figured out how to turn a wasteland country into a flourishing one by now she would go back to the capital and never come back. And that she really only came back to visit out of guilt because of a choldhood promise and to affirm her decision/ feelings that she shouldn’t go back in the first place because Mc’s dream is a hopeless fools errand . And this bum ass Mc acted like he didn’t hear a damn thing and shows her that he infact DID figure it out essentially as a begging plea for her to stay. Terrible this whole character cast is terrible .
